Chapter 487 The Breaking Point
"Mr. Nathaniel!" Koen rushed toward Nathaniel's ward, alarmed by the loud
commotion.
As soon as he opened the door, a laptop flew towards him, narrowly missing his head as he quickly ducked to the side.
The laptop flew through the open door, landing hard in the corridor and smashing its screen.
"Mr. Nathaniel!" Koen saw Nathaniel kicking down the medical equipment beside him.
He rushed over to restrain the furious Nathaniel but received a hard punch to the back, knocking the wind out of him.
Doctors and nurses rushed in, stunned by the chaotic scene. Nathaniel, who had just undergone surgery, had torn his wound open and fainted from the pain.
"Mr. Nathaniel! Mr. Nathaniel!!" Koen hurriedly supported him back onto the hospital bed. Ozzy rushed in with a livid expression, immediately checking Nathaniel's wounds.
"Hurry! Prepare for first aid! Quickly!" Ozzy shouted, his face blue with anger.
He wanted to slap Nathaniel for his recklessness.
Ever since Frey entered his life, Nathaniel had been a madman. Now, he seemed both mad and foolish.
If he truly wanted to die, he shouldn't torture those around him. This situation was more than a mere ailment.
Ozzy and the medical team pushed Nathaniel back into the operating room, likely needing to stitch his wound again.noveldrama
Ozzy felt an overwhelming urge to pry open Nathaniel's brain to see if his structure was abnormally complex.
Koen, unable to help, cursed under his breath.
Nathaniel's punch nearly incapacitated him. He started cleaning the messy ward and noticed a file on the cabinet next to the parcel box, which Mandy had sent over.
It turned out to be a document.
Curious, Koen picked it up, only to freeze in shock as he read it. The document was a divorce agreement signed by Frey.
The agreement was written concisely in Frey's narrative style, each word a dagger to Nathaniel's heart.
It stated clearly that if the relationship was not harmonious, there was no need to continue living together. She asked for mutual freedom, detailing the division of property and stating she would not participate in dividing the Technologent Group's assets.
She would leave with what she came in with, maintaining the original financial status quo.
Calm, exceedingly calm. She wrote like a lawyer, with no emotion or nostalgia, and even graciously asked Mr. Nathaniel not to pay a penny-just to let her go.
"Oh my God!" Koen exclaimed, feeling Frey was too cruel. No one had ever hurt Mr. Nathaniel like this. Frey was the first and only one.
He carefully placed the divorce agreement back and, after some thought, locked it in the cabinet. He asked two nursing staff to clean the ward and rushed out to call Peyton.
Peyton had recently returned to her hometown due to a relative's death.
Koen had been unable to reach her, so he sent messages, hoping she'd see them
soon. His next call was to Mandy, who answered with a hollow voice.
"Koen... Mr. Koen?"
"Mr. Nathaniel is down!" Koen said angrily.
"Ah?" Mandy was confused by what "down" meant.
"Listen here," Koen gritted his teeth, "if anything happens to Mr. Nathaniel, I'll send you all to prison!"
He hung up, leaving Mandy staring at her phone.
She cursed under her breath., thinking,
What could I do? You're just facing the consequences of your past misdeeds.
Nathaniel's second surgery went smoothly.
Afterward, Ozzy, with a bitter smile, knelt beside Nathaniel's bed.
"Nathaniel, I know you're hurting, but think of us," Ozzy said, startling everyone. "What will we do if you die?
"Even if you don't care about us, do
you want Frey to inherit
Technologent Group and let
Sawyer's grandson enjoy your wealthand woman? He'd light your coffin and call you a fool who spent his life for him!"
"Ozzy!" Koen interjected, fearing the harsh words might further harm the president.
Nathaniel turned to the window, where morning glory vines added a touch of green. He feebly waved his hand, signaling everyone to leave.
Koen helped Ozzy out, but Nathaniel's hoarse voice called him back. "Koen!"
"Mr. Nathaniel?" Koen asked, seeing Nathaniel's worn expression, making him look much older.
"Call Frey," Nathaniel said, eyes on the morning glories.
"Mr. Nathaniel?" Koen frowned. Despite his usual patience, he couldn't hold back his anger. "Nathaniel, I read the divorce agreement. This time, she's in the wrong. Sure, we wronged the Gomez family, but they hurt us first. This is
an unresolvable mess."
"Nathaniel, please take care of yourself and leave her. We're all begging you.
Seeing you suffer like this hurts us too."
What do you think?
