The President’s Mistake A Tale of Love and Regret

Chapter 483 Uncovering Weaknesses

"By the way, where did you bring this child from? I need to confirm his identity; otherwise, we won't be able to attract the more cunning fox."

Luna knew that Frey was no simple opponent.

Perhaps three years ago, before her imprisonment, Frey was a naive fool, but now she was a formidable adversary.

Her long-lost brother could be her weakness, but to exploit it effectively, Michael needed to verify the boy's identity thoroughly.

Luna replied coldly, "I found him at Music Square. Mr. Michael, you can investigate thoroughly and might find something useful. But when should we contact Frey?"

Michael looked out at the darkening sky through the broken window. A few stars dotted the cold, dark blue sky. "I'll contact you in a few days."

"Alright," Luna nodded, then turned and walked out of the warehouse.

As night fell, Frey sat on the sofa in her hotel room, lost in thought, anxiously waiting for news.

That morning, Sawyer had confidently assured her it would be easy to find a Truenian child in Pontenero.

But now, it was evening, and Frey had received neither a call nor a message from Sawyer.

Feeling uneasy, she picked up her phone to call him when a knock sounded at the door.

Frey hurriedly opened it to find Sawyer leaning against the door frame in black casual clothes, smiling apologetically.

"I'm sorry. I found the child, but he was taken away halfway."

"What?" Frey's anxiety spiked. "Who took him?"

A hint of guilt crossed Sawyer's face as he stepped into the room, patting Frey's shoulder. "Let's talk inside."

Frey stepped aside, closing the door behind him. Her thoughts were in turmoil, focused solely on her brother.

She didn't notice a paparazzi nearby snapping a photo of Sawyer entering her room before slipping into the elevator.

Once inside, Frey grabbed Sawyer's wrist. "Quch... you have a strong grip," Sawyer winced but managed a bright smile, knowing he had failed

her.

He sat down, suppressing his discomfort.

Frey released his wrist, noticing the scratches and bruises on him. Sawyer had

been in several fights recently.

He took a deep breath. "Don't worry

Frey, though anxious, felt grateful. She poured him a glass of water, which he drank eagerly. "Can you think of anyone else you've offended in Pontenero?" he asked. "It feels like someone is targeting you. Why don't you stay at my place for the next few days?"

Frey hesitated. "No, I'll stay in the hotel and wait for your news."

"Would you like me to help you?"

"No," Sawyer interrupted. "If you don't wanna live with me to avoid suspicion, just lay low in the hotel. It's not suitable for you."

"My men are in the room opposite. If you need anything, contact them. They're here to protect you," Sawyer assured her.

Frey nodded, thanking him. Sometimes she despised herself for having nothing but design ideas in her head.noveldrama
