Chapter 1597
Aurora couldn't fathom why Craig was hesitant about letting her stay over. It wasn't what she might do that worried him, but rather what he himself might not be able to control. As he remained tight-lipped, Aurora felt her pride sting and quickly retracted her offer.
"Forget it, I won't force you! I'll never bring it up again!"
Craig raised an eyebrow, "Oh, getting huffy?"
"Me? Huffy? Heaven forbid! With you ready to call it quits at the drop of a hat, and the brewery owner's daughter waiting in the wings, I'm sure there are plenty more where I came from!" Her sarcastic tone managed to draw a laugh from him.
"Yeah, and don't forget about Duncan with his fancy Belgian chocolates."
"...His name is Duncan, not Belgian Chocolates!"
Before Aurora could finish her sentence, she felt Craig's hand on her jaw, and his kiss landed squarely on her lips!
She froze for a second before wrapping her arms around his neck.
This was clearly a green light for Craig, who, with heavy breaths, propped himself up on his elbow, trapping her in his embrace. His voice was husky with desire. "Are you sure?"
Aurora blinked, her cheeks flushed with a post-kiss glow.novelbin
"Absolutely sure."
Without another word, Craig sat up and ripped off his t-shirt, revealing the taut muscles of his back.
Seeing this, Aurora, the instigator of their flirtation, suddenly became shy, averting her gaze.
Her earlobe was caught between his teeth in a playful bite.
"It's not too late to stop."
"Why do you have to be so chatty...mm..."
Her words were swallowed by another kiss, and when they finally moved towards intimacy, their inexperience led to a pause filled with hesitation.
Nervousness caused Aurora to
flinch at every attempt Craig made to get closer, causing the bed sheets
to wrinkle under her tense grove
Craig could easily have overpowered her slight frame, but he chose not to, even as sweat beaded on his forehead.
Just as they seemed to be making progress, Aurora tensed up and grabbed Craig's arm, "It hurts!"
Craig clenched his jaw and swiftly got out of bed, heading straight for the bathroom.
Aurora let out a sigh of relief and quickly got dressed.
Through the frosted glass, she could just make out Craig's silhouette under the shower.
Feeling awkward, she stood by the bathroom door, "I...I didn't mean to..."
But then she stopped herself. Luring Craig had been her intention all along; she couldn't claim it was an accident.
"Wait for me, I'll take a quick shower, then let's go grab something to eat."
Craig's voice sounded normal, as if trying to pretend nothing had happened. Aurora nodded, "Okay."
Felicity had a long but restless sleep, plagued by nightmares she couldn't remember upon waking, only a sense of unease that lingered
Miles's soothing voice was the first thing she heard, "Felicity, Felicity? You were having a nightmare, wake up."
As she opened her eyes, he was there, holding her hand, "What did you dream about?"
She shook her head, "I can't remember."
"That's probably for the best if it
wasn't a good dream," Miles helped her sit up. "The hotel sent up breakfast. Want some before we head to the office?"
"Sounds good."
Felicity glanced down, picking up her phone that buzzed with messages from Calvin on WhatsApp. You're not home?"
I need your help, genius! These numbers are driving me insane!
