Chapter 991
Side Story 2: Paul VS Daryl (2)
To keep away from the possible radiation, pregnant women are supposed to touch electronics as little as possible.
Daryl was finally persuaded to take the maternity leave at home. She was actually being envied to be able to enjoy such a long leave since her husband was the boss.
Yet Hendry managed to reach her, probably getting her phone number from their common friend, when she was complaining about the boring life at home. Daryl had partaken in their gathering and always regarded Hendry as a guru of the industry. Although on the face of it, he was only the friend of her former coworker, Daryl actually treated this veteran of the trade very politely.
As their conversation went on for quite a while, Daryl finally got to know Hendry was trying to persuade her to join his project in a new industry. Hendry had shifted his career from computer games to animation, and he really hoped Daryl could work with him in the first project of his new studio. It was a critical moment for the future success, as he said.
Daryl just found this mid-aged man so excited when he talked about his new business. He acted just like a passionate teenager when depicting the prosperous picture on his mind.
In the end, Daryl expressed she needed some more time to consider his invitation.
Paul didn't show any reaction to their conversation, though there was no reason for him to be happy when someone was persuading his wife to leave his company. But he wouldn't hinder Daryl for whatever decision she finally made.novelbin
What Daryl was more concerned about now was the oedema in her legs. It had never happened before the pregnancy, but now, even some more water at night would make her legs swollen. She could only put her feet up as much as possible, say, upon Paul's legs, while lolling back in the armchair.
Paul was peeling some nuts for her.
"There is some popular training for mothers-to-be." Daryl consulted Paul,1 Do you think I should sign up for one?"
"What are the classes about?" asked Paul.
Just some know-how about children's education and nursery." replied Daryl.
Paul got lost in thought silently.
He then gazed at the direction of the paper box inside the wardrobe, and observed, "Now I don't think we will have to use it."
Daryl looked along that direction too, sneering coldly, "Don't tell me you already have a list of foster parents on your mind."
Such a list actually did exist and Paul was just hesitant about the final one to choose. "I haven't decided yet." he answered after a pause. Daryl sighed, feeling she had another reason to get worried.
After considering for several days, Daryl finally nailed down a training course to sign up.
It was really difficult to pick one

from the kaleidoscope of choices ranging from early childhood education, yoga to nursery. The training school was only 2km away from her home, and it had fewer trainees than others due to the expensive fees, which was the very advantage in Daryl's eyes.
Paul insisted on serving as her driver, but his offer was turned down by her.
She just didnt want Paul to attract unnecessary attentions when she herself was already conspicuous enough in public. Her worry was actually well- grounded.
Paul's appearance could even trigger gossips about Daryl when it was suffice for people to think her fussy if she got her own driver to pick her up for such a short distance, not to mention when Paul was the very driver.
Daryl tried every means, mainly sweet ones of course, to coax Paul into agreeing with her opinion. Paul finally compromised as he actually quite enjoyed that when he hadn't been able to have sex with her for so long.
In the end, Daryl eventually signed up for the course and appeared in the classroom.
She didn't wear any makeup, only clad in sportswear and having her long hair tied up casually. Nevertheless, she still drew attentions the moment she entered the room.
She greeted to the fellow classmates courteously.
Daryl joined the group of the

mothers-to-be in different stages of pregnancy, and stood in the last row. Some women beside her started chatting with her about her condition of gestation, and they soon made her acquaintance before the class was over. They even began to make appointments for afternoon tea.
What does your husband do?" asked a woman who seemed some years older than Daryl.
Just a petty employee in an IT company." Daryl answered modestly.
You must be kidding." The woman laughed. "A petty employee can't afford such a class."
Daryl beamed too. "We are just lucky enough to have some savings."
The classroom was actually a place for these rich housewives to have their social life.
Since their husbands all had a

decent profession, these women believed good personal relationships here might eventually be beneficial to the swap of interest one day They thus had always been quite willing to share information about their husband's career, yet Daryl was the exception. That only made them more curious about her background.
Meditation and body stretching taught by professional coaches had greatly improved Daryl's health. The oedema alleviated a lot too. A direct result of that was her better mood, which got Paul exempt from her reproach.
Middle-class housewives knew when they should stop making inquiries. The classmates thus wouldn't irritate Daryl before they dug out more about her. They didn't want to impress her as rude women at least.
