Chapter 13
“KeKe,” HenYu calls out waving at me, stopping in my tracks I wave at him and stroll towards him to the entrance of the bath place “Where are you going?,” he asks.
“To the library,”
“Didn’t freshen up, come let’s get in together,”
“You know, I wake up before sunrise so I had a bath early,”
“No I don’t,” he blurts out looking at me with knitted eyebrows.
“What you don’t?,” I question in the same tone as his answer.
“That you wake up early,”
“I know that it sounds bizarre,” stepping forward I place my arm over his shoulders “Sometimes we should change according to the situations.”
“I don’t get you, what do you mean?,” he rubs his chin in a way of thinking deeply.
“You don’t understand right,” removing my hand from his shoulders I step back and he turns around to face me his face showing that he is in total confusion “That’s is why I’m saying, somethings are difficult to understand,” I keep steps back by talking to him with a wide smile plastered on my face, fooling him is the easiest thing and I just love to do it.
He is soo dumb sometimes
“You freshen up and let’s meet up in the classroom,” I wave at him trying to hold up my laughter, his expression is priceless.
Turning around I rush to the library before the class begins, standing in front of the door I look around to see whether someone is watching, I’m glad that the path is empty. Walking in I close the wooden door of the library and began to take steps further in. Looking around again I walk to the shelf where the important files and registers are kept. Walking pass all the shelves I stop in front of the huge wooden cupboard with tinted glass. Unlocking the door of the cupboard which I stole from the teacher’s room I examine the books which are arranged in.
A smiles makes its way on my lips when my eyes catches the book which is larger than the others, I could see the papers have turned yellow and brown as most of them were popping out in the thick pages. Getting hold at the edge of the book with my index finger I try to pull it forward slowly making sure that other books doesn’t fall over but due to the heaviness I couldn’t. Grunting low I pull the book out without giving a thought, my movements pause and my eyes widens looking at the book which is about to loose it’s balance, if it falls all the books in that row would collapse, clutching my other hand I watch it move. A sigh of relief escapes my lips when the book stays in place.
Standing beside the short wooden cupboard I place the book on it , flipping the pages hurriedly. From thin pages I begin to flip bundle of papers from the thick book my eyes trying it’s best to capture the words coming in display.
My eyebrows curl as I hit my palms against the wood, bending low I place my index finger on the page , reading every single names of the imperial family. My mind is filled up with the name of JiangYi, I want to find out in which state and kingdom he has been trained to be one of the forces. All rights © NôvelDrama.Org.
My finger comes to a halt from moving when the name WenLing reads in my mind. Bending even lower in interest I read along, my brain stops functioning in astonishment.
My father is a member of the imperial palace.
I didn’t know this, even my mom never spoke about it. How can he be the head of the officers when he is the leader of Wen Kingdom and other states. Piling up the questions in my mind I read further.
ZongHua the doctor of Wen Kingdom and the personal doctor of Lord WenLing. Standing up straight I lean against the cupboard trying to answer all the questions in my mind.
If Doctor ZongHua is father’s personal doctor he might know what happened to him, but the only thing troubling me is that he lives in the mount of Tian and the people in the mountain and states won’t collaborate unless it’s their festival, their festival arrives once a year or two. That particular day is when all the people gather, they open up many stalls, showing performances and all.
The sound of the bell rings in my ear bringing me back to reality. Taking the book I replace it in the cupboard and leave the library on my way to class I replace the keys as the masters were not in.
We all greet master and take our seats. Master Huang stands up and walks around talking about the military system. My mind swings back to the thought of visiting Doctor ZongHua. Abruptly the flashlight flashes in my head when I remember the date today.
How can I forget it?
Today is the festival the rare night in a year.
Wow, it’s amazing to know that.
“Wan Ke,” the faded call of my name goes through my ears and comes from the other not registering in my busy mind.
Blinking my eyes I bring my brain to the current scene when I feel something hit on me and someone budge on my arm.
Turning to my left I face brother Lei who is telling something with his eyes. He moves his eye balls to his left which makes me to follow the direction to look straight. My eyes widens to see Master Huang glaring at me.
“What’s in your mind that you can’t even feel anything?,” he questions with a stiff face.
What should I feel?
Furrowing my eyebrows in curiosity I look at Master trying to understand what he meant until the whispers of Fang Lei and Hen Yu clicks my mind.
“Paint brush,” Fang Lei whispers staring at me while I look at him in confusion.
Wrinkling my forehead I look down to see the paintbrush on my table, Oh so Master has thrown it on me but I didn’t react to it.
Looking back at master’s angered expression I bow down “Sorry for my misbehaviour,” I apologize and all eyes were on me and I can sense Cheng Lie enjoying the scene.
Damn, I hate this.
“If you don’t want to learn you can leave right now,” he yells which makes me to move my eyeball up to watch him. Standing straight I walk away taking it as an advantage because I can go out now to Mount Tian and come back before it darkens.
I can get the answers for all my questions and find the person behind all this today, I’m just a few kilometres away from my destination.
I will avenge for my Father’s and WanKe’s death and it’s a promise made by me.
