Chapter 30
Nolan’s POV
I made my way to the meeting room where my mother and Rowan were waiting. The weight of the impending discussion hung heavily over me, knowing all too well that it would involve Nesta
To brace myself, I had downed half a bonle of whiskey, hoping the alcohol would temper my emotions and prevent a repeat of my previous outburst.
The hallway leading to the meeting room seemed to stretch endlessly, my footsteps echoing off the polished floors.
The pack house was unusually quiet, the tension of the rogue attacks permeating the air. I paused for a moment, taking a deep breath to steady myself, then pushed open the door.
Inside, my mother sat at the head of the table, her regal presence undeniable even in moments of stress
Rowan was beside her, his face a mixture of concern and determination. As I entered, they both looked up, their expressions softening slightly.
“You’re here,” Rowan said, though there was an unspoken question in his eyes as he noticed my slightly unsteady gair.
I nodded, taking a seat across from them. “Let’s get this over with,” I muttered, leaning back in my chair and crossing my arms.
My mother cleared her throat, her eyes flicking between Rowan and me. “We’ve been receiving more reports of roque attacks. It’s getting worse, and we need to discuss our next steps
“Rogues,” I repeated, the word feeling heavy on my tongue. “And let me guess, you think this has something to do with Nesta”
Rowan exchanged a glance with our mother before speaking. “It’s a possibility we can’t ignore. The timing is too coincidental”
I scoffed, feeling the alcohol dull my usual restraint. “So, what! You want to bring her back! Apologize and hope that lives everything”
My mother sighed, a pained look in her eyes. “We’re not sure yet. We need to explore all our options, and that includes considering the impact of our actions on the pack.”
I felt a surge of anger despite the alcohol. “You sent her away,” I said, my voice rising slightly. “You made her leave, and now you think she’s the cause of this? How convenient.”
Rowan leaned forward, his tone more pleading than commanding. “We don’t know for sure, but we need to find a solution. The pack’s safety is at stake”
I looked away, the room spinning slightly as I tried to process everything. The rogue attacks were a serious threat, and deep down, I knew they were right to explore every possibility.

But the mention
“So what’s the plan?” Lasked finally, my voice laced with a mix of frustration and resignation.
“We need to gather more information,” my mother replied. “Talk to those who might know more about her current whereabouts and situation. We need to understand what’s truly happening before we make any drastic decisions.
I nodded slowly, the alcohol making my head swim. “Tine,” I said, standing up a bit unsteadily. “But don’t expect me to be the one to find her. I can’t
1 cur myself off, shaking my head. “I just can’t.”
Rowan stood as well, reaching out to steady me. “We understand. Just take care of yourself, and we’ll handle the rest.
As I left the room, the weight of the meeting still pressed down on me, but the alcohol had at least numbed some of the sharp edges.
I knew this was far from over, and the thought of Nesta, the rogues, and the turmoil within the pack was enough to make my head spin even without the whiskey.
The pack was deteriorating, and with every passing day, the need for a solution grew more urgent. But for now, all I could do was stumble back to my room and hope the next steps wouldn’t tear us all apart.
