Chapter 218: Main Celebrant
Giselle's POV
I clenched my fists as my face turned red in anger. I couldn't believe that until now, Drystan would still defend Astrid even after she chose to stay in the Shadowfang Pack rather than be with him. Astrid is just a gold-digger, a social climber. I thought after three years, Drystan had already realized that.
I couldn't believe that he would defend Astrid until now as if she hadn't betrayed her by choosing to stay in the Shadowfang Pack rather than be with him.
After everything that Drystan had done for her, in the end, Astrid chose to stay in the Shadowfang Pack, forgetting all the help that she received from Drystan.
That's who Astrid is. Just to have a taste of more status and power, she will abandon everything that she has.
I thought Drystan and I were going to be on the same page about her. I didn't expect that Drystan would defend Astrid until now.Content © NôvelDrama.Org.
I couldn't believe that the smart Alpha of the Nightsong Pack would still be bewitched by Astrid's charms even after he saw her true colour.
What is it in Astrid that I do not have? Why is it that three Alphas would fall over heels for her? What is so special about her?"
Even Drystan, a smart guy, couldn't get over her even after her betrayal. Astrid also had that same effect on Killian.
Even though three years had already passed, Astrid still had that hold on Killian.
No matter what I do and what lies I feed Killian, I could never replace Astrid in his heart.
I might have won by winning the Luna title, but I always lose in stealing the position in his heart.
Well, it doesn't matter. My goal has always been to become a Luna. Whether Killian falls in love with me or not, that's not a problem that I should worry about.
As long as Killian is devoted towards me and no one is threatening my position, then there's nothing for me to be worried about.
My brows suddenly furrowed when I remembered Drystan's last words before he left.
"Just wait when she arrives," his words echoed inside my head without knowing what he meant.
Wait, when she arrives? What am I going to see if she arrives? I think Drystan is being delusional. He still couldn't accept that Astrid had already chosen someone over him.
Just wait and see Drystan. Once Astrid crushed all your hopes and showed you how you actually meant nothing to him, you are going to come back crawling towards us with your broken heart.
You will regret helping Astrid, and
you will realise that she had been using you all along, just like how she only used Killian's position for the status and power that she wanted.
By then, when Astrid loses her standing in the Shadowfang Pack, she wouldn't have Drystan to return to, making Astrid an easy person to deal with.
I just had to wait until the Shadowfang Pack finds no use on Astrid.
"Giselle, where have you been?" I spun around when someone suddenly held my arm.
When I looked up, I realized it was just Killian. "Killian, I was just about to come to you," I instantly answered him with a lie.
"You aren't thinking of creating trouble, are you?" Killian questioned me while gazing forward.
My eyes widened as I looked at him with a subtle yet pointed display of discontent. "How could you think of that? Why would I do something like that here?" I questioned him with an offended voice after he wrongfully accused me.
"We should find our seats. The ceremony is about to start, all of the guests have arrived already," Killian changed the topic without responding to my questions.
Even though he guessed my mind correctly, he couldn't be angry at me without evidence.
The seats in the hall were mostly occupied already when we arrived. All the guests had their faces turned to the front, all abuzz with curiosity.
The guests couldn't wait for the ceremony to start and find out what it was all about. Everyone is making their own guesses.
Some said this ceremony is for the Alpha's youngest and only daughter, while others guessed that it could be a celebration for Alpha Theron's only son and heir to his position.
When we received our invitations,
the invitation never stated what the ceremony would all be about. We were only invited to attend "A ceremony to be witnessed", as it was written.
This cryptic phrasing had left us puzzled over the nature of the event, our imaginations running wild with possibilities.
Is it a coronation? A wedding? A ritual of some ancient tradition? This mystery piqued everyone's interest even more.
The grand hall turned silent when the Alpha of the Shadowfang Pack finally entered the venue. All eyes turned on them and the two persons trailing closely behind him.
"W-who are they?" I whispered closely in Killian's ear as I stared at the people who just arrived and made the room go silent.
"That's Alpha Theron, the Alpha of the Shadowfang Pack and behind him is his son and daughter, Andros and Asha," Killian explained to me in a hushed voice.
I couldn't help but openly stare at Alpha Theron and his son and daughter, just like everybody else.
As I admired them, something bothering me entered my mind. If Alpha Theron came early with his son and daughter, then to whom is this ceremony going to be?
