Chapter 60: Struggling to Resist

Chapter 60: Struggling to Resist Melissa's POV

I could hardly believe it. How could someone so rude and brutish be standing beside me, using my fate as an excuse to treat me with such offence? It made me uncomfonte beyond words.

"Please! Atrias, none of us knows what the future holds, which is why we need to seve present moment. We have to do what we won't regret later-love our lovers, appreciate for beauty of the world and everything in it! Share our feelings, our hearts with others. No one can guarantee the future is set in stone, don't you know?

I repeatedly told myself it was a good thing I didn't act impulsively. If I had, I would have regretted it. This man could never compare to Sebastian!

"But none of this should affect us!"

Atrias frowned even harder, clearly struggling to understand the meaning behind my words.

"No! Even fate depends on where we stand right now. Atrias, things, feelings, time, and circumstances are always changing, so we can't stand still! We don't know what tomorrow will bring, and that's why I reject you. Because we just don't fit together anymore now. You should understand that! If you had stepped forward when Elliott and I were still fighting we might have been together. But now I've met Sebastian. I've gotten to know him deeply. and I've fallen in love with him. If it weren't for that, we wouldn't be troubled or distressed by our matter. Your heart wouldn't be shattered. But everything has changed"

I looked at the man before me and firmly rejected him.

"The day Elliott was with his fate, I met you because I wanted a change of heart. I longed to escape that place. I prayed for someone to save me, but I never got that redemption. 1 had to face everything on my own. But you had showed up, only you weren't ready to accept me. Sebastian is different. He truly loves me, not because fate arranged for him to fall for me. Your feelings for me were forged by a bond from the goddess, but he's different. Our meeting wasn't part of any plan."

No matter whether this guy understood me or not, I needed to make myself clear. This was for both my sake and Sebastian's.

Atrias was in disbelief, seemingly taking everything I said as nonsense.

"I love him. Please don't doubt that. My heart beats for him now, and in my eyes, he's the only one. He's the one who, when faced with difficulties, firmly held my hand and gave me the courage and will to survive. He restored my love and hope. Now, you expect me to forget the man who helped me through my pain, just with fate and a few roses? He is one who defied tradition, values, family, and the will of his people for me-there's no way I could betray such a man!"

Each word felt like it was tearing me apart. The pain of defying fate burned through my

"When he's done with his work, he'll come to find me. He promised he would mark me, and I've given him my promise to never leave him. I will never make him suffer. I chose to defy fate because I love him-not for any other reason. Do you understand?" After hearing me, he still shook his head desperately, unable to accept a word of it.

"I won't give up, Melissa! When your ex-husband told me you'd fallen for the dark Alpha, I couldn't believe it. When I heard you two were getting married, I thought you were just doing it to survive! But now, seeing you like this, I realize I was wrong. I should have found you from the start. I'm really sorry for letting you be kidnapped and taken to such a faraway place alone. Now, I'm asking for another chance. Please, will you come with me? Don't love him anymore. Please." Atrias begged humbly, and I couldn't believe this man, who had only met me once, could possibly be my fate.

"No, I still refuse you. Atrias, I know how cruel rejecting fate can be, but I love Sebastian. He's the only man in my heart. So, if you truly wish to love me, I hope you can accept my decision.

I knew defying fate would bring immense pain, but I was more willing to stay true to my love.

"Fate cannot be changed! Just like the eternal conflict between humans and us wolves. Even though you and Elliott Kauffman are no longer together, he still loves you. And because of that, your existence prevents him and his new Luna from finding happiness.. Every time I see him, he's in agony. I don't want you to end up the same way. The dark. Alpha will face his fate, too. Don't you want to avoid going through that again? You say you don't want to give me another chance, and that's true. After hundreds of years, I will still want to take you away and claim that I'd be with you forever. But your heart will still belong to Sebastian, won't it? So I hope you don't suffer because of me. You deserve more happiness. I don't want so-called fate to be the source of our pain. No matter what you choose, I'll accept it, and I'll offer you my blessings."

Atrias expression was unreadable. I couldn't tell if he had really heard me or not.

Looking at the roses he handed me, I felt a sense of relief wash over me.

He was right. Perhaps one day, Sebastian would encounter his own fate. If he found the right person and betrayed me, that would be when I truly had nothing left.

If I rejected Atrias now, I would never encounter my destiny again.

The chances of meeting a destined mate again were rare, which is why I felt so strange when I saw Atrias again.

He kept moving closer, wanting to be intimate with me. I could tell he wanted to kiss me.

He was trying to use my body to sway my decision. Fate might make me give in to him physically, but free will could never be so easily swayed! 79.6%This content © 2024 NôvelDrama.Org.

Chapter 60: Struggling to Pesist

I now understood everything Ellion had gone through. My mind tried to control my body. but my wolf nature and my body craved him immensely.

The heavy scent of musk was intoxicating, and I couldn't stop myself from moaning f fought against his embrace with all my might, but when he pulled me into his arms, I couldn't help but tremble.

He pressed forward again, licking my neck and sucking my skin.

Everything blurred before my eyes, my mind in chaos. I felt the hunger and ferocity of my body. He dominated my thoughts, placing me on the ground.

"My love,"

As soon as he spoke, I suddenly shifted into my wolf form, fangs bared, dripping with blood.

I kept retreating, staring at him in disbelief.

Sebastian's face flashed in my mind. In an effort to defy fate, I snapped my own fangs off. Realizing what had happened, he must have thought I had lost my mind!

"I'm Melissa, not one of those ordinary women! I will never let you claim me so easily."
