Chapter 67: Her Entire World In His Hands
Sebastian, seated behind his desk, regarded her coolly. “Ah, my dear Wife. Always a pleasure to see you, especially under such… dramatic circumstances.”
“What did you do to my family? This… this sabotage. It’s your doing, isn’t it?” Kourtney wasted no time for pleasantries and cut straight to the chase.
Sebastian leaned back in his chair, a smirk playing on his lips. “My, my, such accusations. And here I thought we were starting to get to know each other better.”
Kourtney gritted her teeth at his obvious childish banter during a serious confrontation.
“You… Just cut the crap. You know exactly what I’m talking about.”
Sebastian’s smirk widened. “Ah, yes. The little incident with your father that you refused to tell your HUSBAND about. Quite the scene. Wasn’t it? But rest assured, my dear, that was merely a taste of what’s to come.”
“That’s…. That’s what all this is about? You’re destroying everything my family has worked so hard to build just because my father lost his temper for a moment? That company was my family’s blood, sweat, and tears for decades,” Kourtney said furiously.
Meanwhile, Sebastian’s tone remained calm yet possessive as he casually adjusted his expensive Giorgio Armani tie.
“Your family, my dear, should learn to show some respect. They need to understand that you are under my protection now. No one should dare to lay a hand on what belongs to me.”
“How…. How could you be so heartless?”
Sebastian’s eyes darkened, his tone turning icy. “Heartless, my dear? I am merely protecting what’s mine. And if your so-called family truly cared about their worthless corporation, they would apologize for their transgressions against you first before we can discuss anything,” he replied, his cold tone unwavering, making Kourtney’s fists clench at her sides.
“An apology? For slapping me?”
Sebastian blinked blankly at the woman for a moment, unsure whether to laugh or cry at the depth of her resignation.
He couldn’t fathom how she had become so tolerant, numb, and desensitized to the mistreatment. The mere idea that she no longer seemed to mind the abuse shook him to his core.
It was evident she had grown accustomed to the emotional trauma, and that realization only fueled his anger further. The thought of the suffering she must have endured at their hands over the years made his blood boil. He sighed, running a hand through his dark hair in exasperation.
He wanted so badly to destroy the Allens even more now.
“Yes, an apology for touching what’s mine!” he sneered coldly. “Do you even realize the gravity of the situation? How can you stand there and defend their actions after everything they’ve done to you?”
“You don’t understand. It’s not about defending them. You can’t just destroy people’s lives all because you can. This is about….. standing up for what’s right.”
Sebastian’s features softened momentarily, a flicker of understanding crossing his eyes before the mask of indifference returned. His drop-dead handsome face had a mix of incredulity and a hint of sadness as he finally spoke.
“But, at what cost? You’re sacrificing your own well-being for the sake of a family that has done nothing but hurt you.”
“I know, it may seem that way to you, but family is family. No matter what they’ve done, I can’t just turn my back on them and let you destroy them. This is madness!”
This time, Sebastian rose from his seat, his tall and imposing figure casting a shadow over her. “Madness or not, no one should dare to lay a hand on what belongs to me. You are mine, Kourtney. My possession, my responsibility.”
Kourtney’s eyes narrowed.
There he goes again, referring to her like she was only his mere property.
But she knew better than to continue arguing with this man.
This man who seemed to hold her entire world in his bare hands……
“I’m going to work now. I’m already running late,” Kourtney said, turning on her heels.
“Don’t even bother yourself. I won’t be letting you out! You’re still recovering,” Sebastian declared.
He wasn’t going to let her go anywhere today as he planned on not going anywhere either.
Meanwhile, Kourtney paused in her tracks. She was dumbfounded by what he just said.
“What??? I need to get to work, damn you! I was only slapped, not hit by trunk!”
Sebastian’s eyes glittered with amusement at her familiar deviance. He took long strides, closing the distance between them until they were only mere inches apart.
Then he whispered hoarsely and seductively in her ears, “I can’t let you go today.”
“What do you mean you can’t let me go? I have responsibilities, a job, a career, a life…”
“You are still recovering, my dear. I can’t let you go out there, risking yourself. Your only responsibility now is to get better. I won’t have you jeopardizing your health for some silly job,” Sebastian cut her off, his voice firm.
Kourtney’s eyes blazed with defiance as she glared up at Sebastian, her hands trembling with anger, her chest rising and falling with each breath.
The man was treating her like an egg that he was afraid of breaking.
And she wasn’t about to let him dictate her life, no matter how fearful his gaze was or how commanding his presence felt.
“You… you can’t just confine me here like a prisoner. I have rights, you know!”Content held by NôvelDrama.Org.
Sebastian’s expression hardened, his towering figure dominating her space. His voice was rough with pent-up passion as he spoke.
“You have rights, yes. But as your husband, I have a duty to protect you. And right now, you need to rest. That’s an order, Kourtney.”
“I… I said I’m feeling better, okay? I don’t need to be watched over like a child. So stop being such an asshole who thinks….”
Before she could protest any further, Sebastian’s lips crashed down on hers in a white-hot kiss that stole her breath away. His kiss was demanding and possessive, not giving her space to think.
He deepened the kiss, his tongue tracing the seam of her lips until she parted them with a soft moan.
Kourtney melted against him while Sebastian circled her waist tightly with his strong, firm hands, caging her to himself.
As the kiss deepened more and more, she felt a row of low and sensual moans escape her lips. Every nerve in her body was on fire, every thought consumed by this man who held her so masterfully in his arms.
But then, Sebastian suddenly broke the kiss, his gaze smoldering with desire. He spoke in a husky voice that sent shivers down her spine. “Go rest in the room, Kourtney. You need to recover, and I won’t have you disobey me.”
Kourtney bit her lips in frustration.
She had no choice but to obey her husband because she knew she couldn’t reason with him when he was in this mood. It was like trying to calm a raging storm with gentle words.
Her legs felt like jelly as she turned and made her way to the room with a mix of reluctance and total submission, her mind reeling.
As she walked away, she couldn’t help but feel a surge of anger at the way Sebastian always seemed to be so controlling, so domineering. But beneath that anger, there was a spark of something else, something she dared not name.
Was it desire? Infatuation? Fear? Confusion? She couldn’t tell.
Meanwhile, Sebastian returned to his seat with difficulty. He tried to focus on the paperwork spread out in front of him, but his mind kept drifting back to Kourtney.
His breath came in shallow gasps while his body kept thrumming with need.
“FUCK!!!” he cursed under his breath, frustrated with himself for wanting her so badly.
Kourtney was like the water that finally came when he was dying of thirst in the desert.
Every time he saw her, his body reacted in ways he couldn’t ignore. The way her long brown hair cascaded down her back, the curve of her lips when she talked, the sparkle in her eyes that hinted at a depth he longed to explore-it all turned him on like nothing else.
“Damn it, Kourtney,” he murmured, his voice hoarse with longing. “What have you done to me?”
The memory of their last intimate encounter two nights ago played like a movie in his mind, making him ache with desire all over again. He couldn’t shake the image of her soft skin under his touch, her breath mingling with his in the heat of the moment.
And those eyes……..
Those Emerald-green eyes seemed to look into his soul and ignite a fire that consumed him entirely.
Sebastian knew he was in deep trouble; his usual self-control was slipping away like sand through his fingers. He had never felt so out of control, so consumed by someone else’s presence, so desperate for their touch. It was both exciting and terrifying.
But as much as he burned for her, he knew he had to give her space, especially after what she had been through, even if it meant keeping his desires in check.
Now, as he watched the Allen empire crumble, he felt a grim satisfaction. They had brought this upon themselves, and he would not lift a finger to help them despite Kourtney’s pleas.
Unless…….
“Young master, we have visitors,” Sebastian’s senior butler brought him out of his trance.
He looked up, meeting the butler’s eyes, which read anticipation mingled with worry. He could already guess from the look on the Old Man’s face who it must be.
The Allens!
A cold smile quickly curved his lips. It was a blend of cold amusement and calculated indifference.
He had been expecting the Allen family to come crawling and begging, but he hadn’t anticipated their arrival to be this early, this fast.
“It just goes to show how desperate these people are,” he thought to himself, his eyes glinting with satisfaction.
The timing really surprised him, but he wasn’t about to make it easy for them……….
