There was an invitation card on a table at the villa where Simone and her family were staying.

David and Simone frowned as they looked at it.

It was from the main Langley family.

"Alvern Langley will have his seventieth birthday soon and has invited us to the banquet. They even said that they will return the things we seek," David said. "Our families are estranged, so why did they send us this invitation? It must be a trap!"

Simone agreed as well.

"Let's ignore them. They're on the verge of bankruptcy anyway. When the time comes, they will naturally have to return those things to us anyway."

Dustin only smiled.

"Grandpa, we represent the branch family and are here to celebrate your birthday," Simone said with a smile. Her manners were impeccable.

Alvern's gaze was cold and hard to read.

"Alright, move along." Alvern impatiently waved Simone and Dustin off.

Meanwhile, the members of the main Langley family were watching Dustin coldly from the side.

Simone moved away with a light bow. Dustin only frowned.

Since it was Alvern's birthday, Dustin did not say anything. He followed Simone and moved aside.

"I keep feeling that everyone's acting strangely today," Simone said softly. Dustin nodded.

Indeed, everything was quite strange. The members of the main Langley family seemed very spirited.

They must have found someone as a backer.

After a long while, more guests arrived.

"Grandpa's birthday banquets have never been so lively before," Simone muttered.
