All members of the Langley family were led to a medium-sized hall.

"Mr. Foxtin's right up there. Are we all here? Please don't approach without permission," Brian said flatly.

They all agreed and stood in place to wait.

The door before them slid open and displayed a set of curtains.

Behind the curtains was a silhouette of a sitting figure.

It was clear that they would not be seeing Foxtin face-to-face.

"Greetings, Mr. Foxtin!" Conan bowed reverently to the figure behind the curtains. The rest of the main Langley family did the same.

Foxtin was someone that even Brian treated with the greatest respect. Thus, they did not dare to show any disrespect.

Just the longevity and the beauty pills meant that Foxtin would become anoveldrama

legendary figure.

Simone, David, and Monique all carried themselves carefully as well. They quickly followed and prepared to bow.

"You don't need to bow," Brian said and stopped them.

Simone and her parents looked distressed.

Did Foxtin not want them here? Indeed, Foxtin had truly chosen the main Langley family, not them.

"Ha! You brought this humiliation on yourselves!" The members of the main Langley family mocked and added insult to their injury. If it were not for formality and professionalism, they would have laughed out loud.

"Mr. Foxtin, these three have no connection with our family! They were the ones who insisted on following. They have no clue what's good for them!" Darren said with a slight bow.

"Hey, shouldn't you give up now? Get out!" he turned and shouted at Simone and the others.

David sighed.

"Simone, let's go," he said in disappointment.

Simone was not ready to accept defeat, but she was resigned to their fate.

Yet, Brian once again stopped them.

"You can't leave yet," he said.

"Ah... If Mr. Foxtin gets upset and blames you for it, I don't think you'll be able to handle it!" Darren mocked them even harder.

"Who are you saying should leave?" asked a mild voice from behind the curtains.

"These three shameless people, of course!" Darren said.

"The person who should leave is you!" Foxtin shouted in rage.

"What?!" Darren was in a daze. The rest of his family was stunned.

"Who do you think you are? You think you can make them just leave?" Foxtin said icily.

"I..." Darren looked frightened. He had no clue why Foxtin was so angry or why he was defending Simone and her parents.

"Please don't be angry, Mr. Foxtin!" The members of the main Langley family panicked and immediately begged for mercy.

"Darren, apologize now!" someone shouted.

Darren looked appalled. He quickly bowed to Foxtin several times. He was acting very humble.

"Mr. Foxtin, please forgive me if I

have offended you in any way. I only... wanted to teach these three shameless people a lesson for you."

"Beat it!" Foxtin suddenly spat.

Darren wanted to say more, but a figure

"Please have a seat," Foxtin said.

They all exchanged confused glances.

They were all standing there as there were no chairs anywhere. Where were they even supposed to sit?

The answer soon presented itself.

Some people brought out chairs and approached them.

"Thank you," Conan said with a smile. He tried to accept the chair.

However, the movers did not even look at Conan. They walked past him toward Simone and her family.
