Chapter 186
Irene felt a little uneasy.
She thought that Dustin had gone a bit too far with his words.
How could anything compare to the 30 million dollars Verdigris Emerald ring?
"It's just Verdigris Emerald. Why do you act like you've never seen anything like this before?" Dustin asked with a soft smile.
“Coincidentally, one of my men recently unearthed a piece of these from the North Pole and sent it to me. I find the color too overwhelming, so I'll just give it to her."
He nonchalantly reached into his pocket and pulled out a small pouch. He handed it over to Irene. "Nothing too special. You can do whatever you want with it."
Irene hesitated for a moment before reaching out to take the pouch.
She did not open it right away as she was worried that whatever was inside might not be worth much.
"Why are you hesitating, Irene? Afraid to embarrass yourself?" Phoebe sneered.
"Go on, open it. Don't just stare at it," Dustin said flatly.
With a deep breath, Irene finally opened the pouch.
In an instant, a brilliant green light shot out.
Irene paused for a second before carefully pulling out the object inside.
It was a Verdigris Emerald, as large as a goose egg. Even under the dazzling lights of the evening, the green glow it emitted was almost blinding.
Aaron and Phoebe stood frozen in shock.
"Is... is that a Verdigris Emerald? A piece this big?" someone stammered in disbelief.
Staring at the massive gemstone in Irene's hand, many in the crowd could not tear their
eyes away.
The Verdigris Emerald was one of the rarest and most valuable gems. Its rarity was precisely what made it so expensive. Even a small piece could cost a fortune.
Aaron had spent 30 million on just a tiny piece from the Central Harbor Auction House!
Though there was some markup, it still highlighted just how costly Verdigris Emerald was.
Yet Dustin had casually pulled out a piece this large!
A Verdigris Emerald of this size was unheard of

Most of the students in the room had seen their fair share of gems, and they were capable of easily identifying a gemstone's authenticity.
The Verdigris Emerald had distinctive features which made it easy to identify.
"How much would this be worth...?" someone gasped in awe.
The crowd exchanged glances.
This was a true rarity. Something so valuable could not even be measured in mere money.
It was nowhere near the size of Aaron's tiny, fingernail-sized piece.
"How could he possibly have a Verdigris Emerald this big?" Aaron's eyes widened, and his face darkened with anger.
Phoebe was just as perplexed.
Who was this date of Irene's?
Who else in the whole of Lovellia could afford a Verdigris Emerald of this size?
Money could not buy such treasure.
But he looked just like an ordinary person, with no trace of a wealthy background whatsoever.
“Well? Is this stone impressive enough for you?" Dustin asked as his gaze locked on Aaron.
Aaron's face darkened. He had nothing more to say.
His ring now seemed like a joke in comparison.
He silently tucked it away.
"This... this is too much... I can't accept it!" Irene quickly tried to hand the gemstone back to Dustin.
"Keep it." Dustin waved dismissively. "Consider it a gift for the West family. Make it into a ring, earrings, or a bracelet, so no one will look down on you again."Content is © by NôvelDrama.Org.
Irene hesitated for a moment. Seeing that Dustin was not going to take it back, she finally accepted it.
"Thank you..." she said in gratitude.
She rarely accepted gifts from men.
But for some reason, as she held this unique gemstone from Dustin, she felt a strange feeling stir in her heart.
Aaron gritted his teeth in frustration and fury.
