Mr. Powell Is Hunting for His Wife

Chapter 7: You’re Beautiful, but Stop Dreaming

Chapter 7: You’re Beautiful, but Stop Dreaming

Diana typed a sentence with her slim fingers on the keyboard. “Money received.” She clicked send with the cursor. Mirabelle was thrilled when she received Diana’s email. Her somber mood due to being given a cold shoulder by Brooklyn just now was instantly lightened up.

Anna Miller was the number one perfume-maker in the world. Only she could help her solve her problem. As long as Anna made that perfume, Brooklyn would not be that stern towards her like what he did now. Mirabelle was too overjoyed that she did not notice the address given by Diana was the Powell Tower.

“Mommy, do you really want to make perfume for that bad woman?” Seeing the large amount of money on Diana’s phone, Emily pouted and did not understand. “Why did mommy want to make perfume for that bad woman? Does she deserve it?” Anyone who wanted Diana to make perfume not only had to pay huge amount of money, but also had to pay a special visit. That woman would be too lucky to let Diana make perfume for her with just a few emails.

Emily clenched her fists and snorted. Diana felt amused and kept her phone away. She closed the laptop and caressed her hair gently. There was a complacent smile on her face, as if everything was just like what she had planned. “Why shouldn’t I earn money when there’s chance? Plus mommy is not gonna make the perfume she really wants after all.” Content (C) Nôv/elDra/ma.Org.

Austin and Emily looked at each other and tilted their head. What did she mean? Diana did not explain to them. After tidying up the things on the study desk, she held their hands and said, “Alright, mommy’s job is finished. It’s time to take a bath and sleep.”

After cleaning the two kids and made them sleep, Diana turned on the desk lamp and started to search for the business domain the Powell Group involved in all these years with her laptop. Since Brooklyn had agreed to her request to become his assistant, she would certainly do her job well.

She had mentioned Mr. and Mrs. Hill when she met him, and she had to show them the perfume that was enough to impress them. Or else, it would be extremely difficult to encourage the collaboration between them and Brooklyn. Diana felt her head ached and she massaged the part between her eyebrows. She pondered the ways to make the perfume and fell asleep shortly.

Diana wore a pair of sunglasses the next day. She stepped into the Powell Tower, walked towards the front desk, knocked the desk with her finger and asked the front desk lady with a sexy look, “Do you have my parcel?” The front desk lady looked up and realized she was the woman who demanded to see Brooklyn yesterday.

Why did she come again today? Even asking whether she had her parcel or not. God knows what she had ordered. Since she was not the Powell Group’s employee, who would send her parcel there? Could it be after being taken away by Mr. Powell yesterday, she had become complacent and lost her mind? Contempt grew in the front desk lady’s eyes. “Miss, we only accept employee’s parcel here. You’re not an employee, so who would send your parcel here?”

Diana smiled after she heard that. She took off her sunglasses and her looks shocked the front desk lady. She pursed her lips and supported herself on the desk. “Mr. Powell has hired me as his assistant yesterday. If you don’t believe me, you could call him, or…his assistant.”

The front desk lady looked at her in a daze. The woman before her was flirtatious and her white shirt had highlighted her slim figure. She also had a pair of limpid eyes that seemed to read one’s mind. “Why, are you bedazzled by my looks?” Seeing her startled look, Diana smiled. “I know I’m pretty, but I’m the one in trouble if you keep on looking at me. Hurry up and confirm with Mr. Powell’s assistant whether there’s a new assistant showing up today.”

The front desk lady reacted and glanced at her a few times with doubt. Diana stood there confidently and was not affected by the bystanders’ attention at all. She should not be blamed for her beauty. The

front desk lady made a call and it was quickly picked up. “Mr. Gibson, there’s a woman who claims to be Mr. Powell’s new assistant, should I allow her in?”

“Ask her to come up. She’ll be Mr. Powell’s new assistant from now on, and she’ll work with me.” The front desk lady was shocked. It turned out the woman before her who seemed to only have good looks was actually Mr. Powell’s assistant. She hung up the call with embarrassment and coughed. “Mr. Gibson asks you to go upstairs.”

Diana stared at her with a smile until she felt creeps. “Is there anything else?” she asked rudely. Diana knocked the edge of the desk gently and asked, “Is there my parcel? The name of the receiver is Anna Miller, do have a check for me.” Few minutes later, Diana looked like a winner, raising her slim neck high and headed towards the lift while holding the parcel sent by Mirabelle.

Brooklyn’s president office occupied the top floor of the Powell Tower. Diana noticed Harper was waiting for her not far away as soon as she stepped out of the lift. Harper glimpsed at the parcel in her hands and said, “Come to my office. You have to know about Mr. Powell’s work schedule and arrangement.” He examined her from head to toes.

He thought Brooklyn would refuse to let her become his assistant when Diana left his office yesterday. Yet Brooklyn told him with a cheerful look afterwards that the woman with the surname Miller was hired. Hired? Harper had worked for Brooklyn for many years, and it was the first time he saw someone managed to impress Brooklyn with just looks.

Harper handed a thick notebook to Diana and said, “Miss Miller, this is Mr. Powell’s schedule arrangement these six months. You’ll be responsible of all Mr. Powell’s working and private schedule arrangement from now onwards, such as who he should talk to, who he should meet, what kind of banquet he should join, whose invitation he should accept, etc.”

Diana frowned when she heard that she was even held responsible for his private schedule arrangement. “Mr. Gibson, I want to ask, regarding the private schedule arrangement, exactly to what extent would it be?”

“To any extent you can think of.”

“Including having sex?”

Harper’s face twitched. He looked up and once again examined the new assistant before him. “Anna, you’re beautiful, but stop dreaming.” There were a lot of women who wanted to sleep Brooklyn but no one succeeded when they faced Mirabelle who claimed herself to be Brooklyn’s fiancée.

Diana heaved a sigh of relief and became relaxed. She wanted to take revenge on Mirabelle and got back everything belonged to her, yet that did not mean she wanted to use her body to gain benefit. If it was not for Brooklyn, Mirabelle would not have thoughts on her. All in all, Brooklyn was also the main reason Mirabelle wanted to finish her.

Harper pursed his lips when he saw her reaction. What was that woman thinking? Why did she feel relieved instead when she knew she did not have to sleep the president? He shook his head. Could it be she thought the president had some unspeakable fetish and was intimidated?
