Chapter 35
“I’m sorry, Mr. Atlas. I was out of line. It won’t happen again.” Lianne flinched and swiftly moved. away
from Zane.
On the way back to the hotel, Lianne earnestly gave it some thought.
Now that Lianne spent some time with Zane, she saw a different side to Zane that contradicted the
rumors. Believing that Zane was a good person at heart, she became bold to step out of bounds.
Lianne told herself to be mindful in the future.
Zane put out the cigarette and kept a distance behind Lianne until she returned to the hotel safe and
sound. Instead of entering the hotel, he stood by the road.
Dr. Leah popped out of nowhere. “Zane, Pete had informed Willow to deliver your message to Mrs.
Atlas. She won’t be giving Lianne any more trouble.”
Zane gave a nod.
Dr. Leah then uttered, “Willow mentioned that Mrs. Atlas had been poking her nose everywhere. lately
because Ms. Nancy and Ms. Graham will be returning home from their studies abroad soon.
She wanted to clear all obstacles for Ms. Graham.”
Zane lit a cigarette and smirked. “She has no say in my affairs.”
“She’s your mother at the end of the day. You’re putting your reputation at risk by doing so.” Dr. Leah
had been part of Zane’s life since he was a little boy, so the former knew the latter did not get along
with his parents. In fact, they hated each other.

restructuring the company. Since then, Zane had been known to be cold-blooded and ruthless in the
community.
“Reputation?” Zane never cared about his image. Even if he did care, he had the means to sway public
opinion anyway.
Dr. Leah stared at Zane. She struggled internally before deciding to voice the question that had been
bugging her. “Zane, have you caught feelings for Lianne since you’re going out of your way to protect
her?”
Zane raised an eyebrow. “Do you think I’ll let anybody push you and Pete around?”
It was not a straight answer, but Dr. Leah got the hint. Zane was saying that Lianne was special to him
like she and Pete were they were his people.
Nobody could bully them.
The next day, Lianne resumed her duties at work now that her sick leave was over.
She did not travel around with Zane this time around but kept up with all the necessary responsibilities
as an assistant. She was soon caught up to speed.
Two weeks passed, and the tourist area officially opened for business.

After the opening ceremony, the group returned to Rosewood.
They took Zane’s private jet for the trip home to save a few hours from transiting between cities and
arrived at Rosewood before the sun went down.
Lianne received a call from Tyler when she claimed her baggage. “Gummy, Sierra and I are
coming to pick you up from the airport. We’re minutes away. Wait for us when you exit the VIP lane.”
“Sure. I’ll see you later.” Lianne hung up the call with a smile and cocked her head to meet Zane’s
gaze.
He glanced at her before walking ahead.
Lianne and Liam each wheeled two large suitcases while trailing behind him.
Zane’s ride was waiting at the exit. He got into the car as Lianne and Liam carried his suitcases into the
vehicle.
Not wanting to sit next to Zane, Liam sat in the front passenger seat after moving the suitcases.
With Lianne approaching the backseat, Zane immediately scooted over to give her space.
However, Lianne said with a smile, “Mr. Atlas, I won’t be needing a ride back. Someone is coming to
pick me up.”
