Chapter 24
Third Person’s POV
The two of them sat in silence, side by side. One didn’t wanna believe what he said and the other dreaded telling her about it.
“It all started a month after you left…” He took a deep breath as if encouraging himself.
“My temper was over the roof. I would get mad at even the most harmless things, like the bed sheet being crinkled or the cup being placed on the wrong side of the plate. I’d snap at anyone, fire them or threaten to kill them. I was bad” Hayden looked at Fallon from his peripheral vision.
She was still, looking at a distance. Through from outside she was looking impassive but inside it was all a jumble, she couldn’t pin point what she was feeling or what she is suppose to.
“The girls would regularly come, everytime new woman not a single girl would come here twice. I would be disgusted just by looking at them or being in their presence. I felt like they had a contaminated air around them, they were simply repulsive I guess. Everytime I wanted to sleep with someone, all I saw was soft black hair, warm brown eyes with full eyebrows and ample cheeks…” She hated that he mentioned those girls, jealousy was running in her veins. All she wanted to do was, push her man down on the bed and take full control over him; show him that no one in the entire fucking world can satisfy him as her. But she kept her urges in bay.
“It was as if I was being haunted, I didn’t wanna touch a body that didn’t have wide hips, thick thighs, full breast and that petite body that fit perfectly against mine. When I forced myself to have sex with other even though I resented it, I could only hear your moans. The way you softly pant or whimper, the way your hair is scatter around my pillow like a halo. Everything about you was innocent but lethal.” Her heart melted hearing all those things. He sat stiff for the next part when things began to get worst.
“One day I was back home in New York, I saw a woman with black hair, she had frame just like yours but I saw from the back. She had a guy’s arm wrapped around her waist. She was hugging him and kissing him, I was seething in jealousy but I snapped when I saw that guy go down on his knees and bring a ring out of his pocket.
I got up from the bench and took whatever weapon that was in front of me, which happened to be a metal trash bin.
I went straight to them and smashed the bin on his head” he hears a gasp from her mouth, he was so disappointed in himself that he couldn’t look at her. Afraid that he’ll only see disgust and disdain.
He looked at the space recalling the next events. It’s true he didn’t want to tell her but as if he has any choice.
“The woman screamed on top of her voice when she saw the boy laying on the ground unconscious. I didn’t pay any mind to anything. I just went in front of her and fell on my knees. I wrapped my arms around her waist and profusely asked her to give me one more chance. She just slapped me, only then I looked up. It wasn’t you, it was some other girl. I should have guessed when I held her in my arms! Gosh I feel so stupid!! Her waist was curvaceous but a little smaller!!” He rubbed his face in embarrassment
“I apologized to her and took the guy to the hospital. I payed for the entire treatment and even gave 250 hundred dollars as an apology. The girl was about to call for the police in the park when I told her about how I mistook her for you!” He explained further.Content © NôvelDrama.Org.
“But that’s not what forced me to the hospital. All my workers were deathly afraid of bring their girlfriend/boyfriend here. I was jealous of the relationship they had, I destroyed mine but my pride was too big to admit it *sigh*
One day when I was hanging out with my group and let me tell you there are a lot of couples in it. When I saw them kissing and saying ‘i love you’ I went crazy, I attacked them. Thank god my brother was there; he knocked me unconscious. Next time I woke up I was trapped in a straitjacket, my parents and my entire friend circle was there in the room.
That was the first time I cried when I told them about you. My sister in law suggested that I should take a break and get myself checked. After a lot of arguements I agreed and here I am now!”
Both of them sat in silence, Hayden desperately wanted to her to say something… anything. He didn’t like her silence, it was cutting him deep.
“All these years I thought I was the only one suffering. I wanted to forget you so badly that I went to critical extend. Why didn’t you come for me Hayden? You’re a powerful man, it would only take you a few minutes to find me. Why didn’t you come for me earlier?” She asked, the only question that has been bugging her all this while.
Hayden chuckled, “who said I didn’t went out to find you? I did found you, 3 years ago after fighting with myself or my ego if you say. I was shattered. It’s numbed my soul to see you moved on. I went to the hospital where you were an intern at that time, I brought your favourite flowers. I was dressed in my finest suit, had your favourite wine and chocolates. But when I reached your office, I could only hear your moaning, the soft moaning that I love. I cannot begin to explain how heartbroken I felt. My entire world crumbled down when I peeked from the door.
You were on the table with your legs spread and a man pounding in you.” Hayden recalled how devastated he felt, he legs wobbled and his heart stopped beating for a moment. He though he would better be dead than to have ever seen that soul crumbling scene.
Fallon sat there crying, feeling disgusted with her self. She wanted to die than to feel so disgusted by herself. Only if she would have not went to such a measure to forget Hayden, “I am sorry Hayden! all that, I used all those men just to forget you. Your memories haunted me, Hade. I couldn’t escape them, with the grief of losing you and our babygirl, that’s how I coped with depression! ” she said in pain. Hayden understood why she did what she did, because that’s how he was coping with the grief of losing her. Seeing her pained face he knew she is blaming herself.
“Don’t do that to yourself, I don’t hold you accountable for all the shit I dragged you through. You did what you had to to in order to forget me, though I must say you did a shitty job at that!” Hayden joked making Fallon chuckle
She looked at him with tears streaked face, “You’re such a clown!” she said sniffing. He softly smiled at her and took both of her hands in his.
“Let’s make it work this time baby, I promise you I won’t fail you this time!” He promised her. She looked at his mesmerising sea blue eyes, “I love you!” She said. He cracked a smile and kissed her deeply, “I love you!” He said softly. Both of their hearts breathing erratically. They both hugged each other.
She looked at the man before her, it wasn’t man full of pride or hatred, it was a man full of pain and suffering who is just looking for a chance at redemption. “I love you Hayden” she told her looking deep into her lover’s eyes.

Fallon was laying on top of now clothed Hayden on his bed. He was playing with her hair, sometimes even sniffing the lavender smell. While Fallon’s was in trance hearing his heart beat rhythmically. Finally both of them lay close to each other in content.
“You know, I have always wondered. Why do people say that flowered represent love?” She said after some time. Hayden sighed in confusion, “I– don’t know?”
She rolled her eyes and brought both of her palms to her face, cupping them and looking at her man’s eyes.
“Well I don’t think… Well I know for a fact that flowers don’t represent love. I mean I get it, it’s beautiful and smells wonderful and all that shabang!! But within days in dies, whether you care for it or not. That definitely does not represent love!” She said, Hayden looked at her woman in awe, “so what represents love?” He asked her.
“Cactus does” she finally said, Hayden raised a brow at her. This is going 100 feet over his head.
“Well Cactus survives. Even in the harsh weather, even without water for weeks. Just like real love, it survives in the harsh conditions and sometimes even without the other person loving you back. Through cactus has thorns all over itself and it is unbearably painful to touch it, there is a cure for a lot of things underneath, just like love. People build walls around their heart because they are deathly afraid to be left heartbroken. They may say a lot of harsh words or even do some shit but real love is persistent, it shows dedication to the other person!” She said all this while looking at Hayden with love in her eyes.
Hayden couldn’t believe that he has such a wonderful woman to call her his. For sure she was different, not because of her womanly body but because of her thinking, her personality, her morals and her confidence.
“What did I ever did to deserve you?” he asked in awe, her face flushed red and she looked timidly at him. He chuckled to himself, even after being so bold she blushes even for the smallest things.
She slapped his chest and burried her face in his chest, Hayden rolled them over so he was now hovering over her. Mischief clear in his eyes, her eyes widen when he pinned both of her arms above her head with one hand while the other was wiggling in front of her.
She squeaked when he started tickling her, “HAHHAHAHAAH….. ST–OPP HAHAHHAHA… HAY-DEN I’LL PEE… HAHAHHAHAHAHAHAH…. STOPPP” she busted out hysterically under him and he didn’t stop tickling her. There were tears in her eyes but she felt nothing but pure joy.
After some more torturous minutes later Hayden stopped, he laid beside her still laughing softly. Fallon looked up at her man completely enthralled, “I love you Hade” he looked down at her with a pained expression, “I love you more dandelion. I promise to never let you go” he said and pulled her in his arms. She smiled at him and brought her face closer, “because if you do that, I’ll kill you” with that she smashed her lips on his.
