“So when are you going to pick up a dress,” Ana asked me. She had called early this morning saying that Nick had left her all alone and Debby was out of town for now. She needed company and it seems I was the first person who came to mind.

“I don’t know yet,” I say unsure of what I want.

“The wedding is in three weeks,” she said in an almost scolding tone.

“So?” I ask plopping on the bed caressing my stomach.

“Rach” she sounded like she was a mother.

“Yes Mommy,” I said in a mocking tone.

“Be serious” she called out. “I will text the girls and we will go dress hunting tomorrow,” she said and I rolled my eyes.

“I don’t have anything to do anyway,” I say and she laughs a little.

“So how is Noah?” she asked sounding like she wanted to extort as much information as she could from me.

“He should be fine I guess,” I say with uncertainty.

“Has he called you?” she asked again.

“Why?” I ask and when she doesn’t respond I answer her earlier question. “No,” I say shortly.

“That’s strange” she hummed and my confusion grew.

“Ana” I called out to her.

“I got to go I have a doctor’s appointment,” she said. “I will call you later”

“Okay later,” I say dropping the weird atmosphere she had just created.

Since I was pregnant I didn’t want to draw any attention to myself. My parents had suggested I should stop going to work. They told me to take a leave off work until I had given birth and weaned the baby.

I was so bored at home all day. I had nothing to do but sometimes my cousins would come and then other times my friends but I still got bored.

My phone rang on the bed side. I picked it up and saw Noah’s name flash on the screen. I picked up immediately.

“Hello sweets,” he said happily.

“Someone is in a good mood today” I commented and he laughed lightly.

“Yes I am” he answered.

“Why?” I pressed on. Any form of entertainment will do right now.

“Well, I booked a ticket to Hawaii for the wedding” he explains and my mouth went wide open.

“You bought tickets?” I asked him and he laughed again.

“Yes, I told you that I wanted to give you a dream wedding” he explained.

“Thank you?” I say with uncertainty. “You didn’t have to” I explain.

“You are welcome,” he said.

“So how are going to do about all the preparations that have been made?” I asked concerned about the decorating team we had paid already.

“I had already spoken to the decorating team and we had agreed that they would come to Hawaii to decorate the place and your mom said she can take a chef there to handle the cakes and the wedding planner is going with us” he assured me.

“Seems like you have everything planned out,” I say shock revealing in my words.

“Yes I do,” he said and I smiled at him. “I miss you” he blurted and the dragonflies in my stomach started a Kung Fu class with each other.

“Eh?” I snorted out and he laughed nervously.

“It’s just that I haven’t seen you all week. I miss you” he said more confidently.

“I miss you too,” I said before adding “I guess” under my breath.

“What was that?” he asked and I sighed.

“I said I missed you too” I clarify for him.

“I heard that. You mumbled something else” he asked me.

“It’s nothing,” I say dismissing the topic in some kind of way. “I have a doctor’s appointment tomorrow would you like to come?” I asked him.

“Of course, thank you for asking me” he replied. He is coming for the baby. Don’t start any Kung Fu there dragonflies.

“I will see you then?” I said and he made a sound at the back of his throat.

“I just remembered my mom wanted you to know that she is paying for the dress,” he said.

“Which dress?” I asked feeling weird at that statement.

“The wedding dress” he answered casually.

“She doesn’t like me why will she do that” I ask trying to get why she wanted to do that. Was this a way for her to get me alone and threaten me?

“As I said she will put up with you for me and she is sorry for attacking you the other day so buying this dress is a way for her to say sorry to you” he explained.

“Noah it feels not right,” I said allowing my instincts to kick in.C0pyright © 2024 Nôv)(elDrama.Org.

“Can you just go with her? You can take one of the girls with you if you feel very uncomfortable around her” he suggested.

“Ana was making me go with all the girls to check out some amazing designs tomorrow,” I say and he sighs.

“Then I will tell her to go with all of you,” he says. “Bring your mom too” he added after much thought.

“I don’t think that is a good idea. They didn’t send good vibes to me when they first met” I say remembering the day Noah’s mom had met mine.

My mom had been uncomfortable and she had asked me times and times again if I wanted to go through with this. Dad too wasn’t too comfortable but he rarely let it show on his face.

“Okay then, I will send someone to pick you up tomorrow so you can meet my mom. You can text the girls to meet you there” he said.

“I guess I can work with that. It will only be a few hours” I say a smile reaching my lips.

I remembered shopping for Ana’s dress. It took us the whole day.

“Okay bye sweets. Greet the baby for me” he said indicating that he was about to hang up.

“We will go shopping after my appointment so you don’t need to send a driver,” I said remembering my appointment.

“That’s true. I will drive you there and leave” he suggested.

“Sounds good,” I said before adding. “Bye Noah”

“See you tomorrow,” he said before a beep was heard and the phone was dead silent.

I send a message to the girls and they are all happy that I’m finally shopping but no one is pleased to go out with Noah’s mom. She seemed evil the last two times we met each other as a group.

She liked to feel like she was on top of the world. I wonder what made her like that. No feelings!
