“Luna, if you provide lodging and damages for every wolf that was affected, it will cost a great deal,” the pack’s accountant hesitantly advised.

I closed the account book and glanced at him. “People were injured and their homes were burnt while they put their lives on the line to help their Alpha and the pack. When they can be so devoted and honest to us, then why are you so hesitant to help them when we all are a family?” I raised an eyebrow.

“I completely understand your point, Luna,” he cunningly smiled. “I get that you feel bad for those that have experienced loss because what happened was because of you, but this kindness will cost millions and it all comes out of the Alpha’s pocket,” he pointedly remarked.

I could clearly see through his ploy. While there were people who accepted me Reuben’s Luna, there were also those that could not accept an Omega as their Luna. In their eyes, I was to blame for the attack, the losses that had been sustained, really anything bad that had befallen the pack in the last eleven years. I could understand their frustration over the loss, but it was painful to know that even though Reuben and I were together, there was no one between us and we were living happily, I was just the woman that gave birth to his children. For some pack members, I was his

soulmate but not the Luna of the pack. Especially after they saw my evil side which had frightened many people away from me.

However, I finally understood that I could not make everyone happy. That was life. I smiled at the accountant, “When did I say that I was using Reuben’s or the pack’s funds to cover the damages or expenses?”

He blinked at me in confusion, “Then where is the money coming from?” NôvelDrama.Org owns all © content.

“All the expenses and damages will be covered by me. Contact my assistant for everything,” I tossed Lola’s business card on the desk in front of him then got up to leave, only to find Reuben standing at the doorway.

“Alpha!” the accountant panicked, quickly getting up from his chair, alarmed by Reuben’s expression which was in no way friendly, but was rather predatory, set on the man.

“What was the manner in which you were speaking to my mate?” Reuben stepped into the room, his expression darkening to a devilish intensity as the color drained from the man’s face. “My money, my pack, my everything is

for her to use or burn. Why does that bother you, you fucker?” he growled, advancing toward the man. The accountant took a few steps back in fear, wanting to run away. “Do I have to teach you how to properly address your Luna…”

“Reuben! Reuben!!” I intervened, halting him from advancing any further toward the man, lest the man be thrown out the window of his office. “It’s alright.”

“No, it’s not alright, Willow. No one can mistreat or disrespect you!” His eyes blazed in their seriousness. My heart swelled with his protective words, and I couldn’t resist planting a soft kiss on his lips.

“I know, that’s why I fell in love with you,” I smiled, locking eyes with him. “But I really want to take responsibility for our people on my own. While you’re doing your best to support everyone, I want to be right there with you,” I stated firmly.

He silently studied at me then slowly pulled me into his warm hug, “Alright, if that’s what you want…”

I hugged him back happily. Reuben lifted his gaze, fixing it on the man who immediately scurried out of the room in a bid to save his own hide.

A while later, Reuben and I exited the room and made our way toward the packhouse, only to halt when we heard strange voices emanating from Ella’s house. We exchanged a glance before heading around to her backyard, where we found her in the swimming pool, but not alone – Walter was with her.

“Oh my!” I immediately hid behind a tree pulling Reuben in behind me. “Now I understand why Walter has been so absent around the packhouse lately!”

“Why are we hiding?” Reuben whispered in my ear.

“Let’s not disturb their moment and watch from here,” I whispered back.

“You… why are you in my pool?” Ella gasped.

“We are already living together. Sharing a pool shouldn’t be a problem,” Walter replied as he swam closer to her.

“Don’t talk so loudly!” Ella quickly covered his mouth. “Reuben and Willow kicked you out of the packhouse, that’s why I am letting you stay at my place. If someone hears you, they will get the wrong idea!” she scolded.

Reuben looked down at me as I looked up at him in pure confusion. We kicked Walter out?! I blinked in surprise, but Reuben smiled in understanding. Walter must have used us as an excuse to be with Ella.

My lips curled into a smile at the sight of Walter getting closer to Ella and fixing her bikini for her, fully understanding Walter’s angle. She looked a little hesitant, but she was letting him touch her, which was obviously a little much to be considered in the friend zone. Obviously, they were not just friends.

“Do you think they’re together?” I looked up at Reuben.

“I’m not sure, but Walter seems very interested in Ella. She also doesn’t seem to be avoiding his advances. Of course, their story started out as an enemies–to–lovers type, so maybe they will slowly get there,” he explained.

Suddenly, Walter pulled Ella close to his chest and confessed, “I don’t mind being misunderstood when my intentions are never pure when it comes to you,” he whispered before kissing her. My mouth gaped slightly. I looked at Reuben, who seemed just as surprised, we both smiled at each other over the sight of Ella not pushing

Walter away.

Reuben and I both immediately withdrew without being noticed, only to stop in the clearing where Oran was teaching a she–wolf hand to hand fighting skills.

“Ouch! Beta Oran, that hurts,” she timidly blushed at Oran, becoming overly touchy. He awkwardly smiled, feeling uncomfortable as he tried to fix her sprain. She seemed to have gotten hurt during their training session. “I didn’t know you were so strong, Beta Oran,” she purred, touching Oran’s shoulder. “Can you be gentle?” she whispered a little too close to his ear.

“Bad luck, girl. He doesn’t know the meaning of gentle,” Bix stepped in, grabbed her hand, and yanked her away

from Oran.

“Bix,” Oran gasped, looking like someone who was caught cheating on his wife.

“Gamma Bix, I was just…” she tried to explain but Bix cut her off.

“Why do you look so guilty? I’m just here to help you,” he gave her a fake smile that didn’t reach his eyes, “He likes it rough and wild. He is into dirty positions and the most important thing is he is not into pussies, he’s into asses. So how about I give you the passcode to his house for tonight?”

The woman’s face turned pale as she listened to Bix before she immediately ran away in tears.

Oran raised his brows at Bix, “I like it rough and wild? Dirty positions?” he leaned in closer to Bix’s ear, “I have yet to get you in my bed yet here you are imagining such dirty things about me, Bix. You turned out to be a real…”

“Bullshit!” Bix shut his mouth in shame. “I just helped you…” He clearly lied,

“Just help me? Didn’t you just make me out to be a sexual deviant in front of that innocent girl?” Oran blinked,

“You scared her.”

“I scared her?” Bix glared at him, “She was flirting with my man, do you expect me to turn a blind eye?!” he snapped then abruptly paused when he realized what he had said.

A huge grin spread across Oran’s lips, “Did you just call me your man…”

Bix’s face turned red. His jealousy had come back to bite him in the ass, he had revealed his feelings. He could not handle the situation and Oran’s happiness. He immediately shifted into his wolf and ran in the woods.

“You can’t run from me today!” Oran crowed, chasing after him.

They vanished in the woods. Reuben and I looked at each other with smiles then headed into the packhouse where our children were waiting for us.

“Daddy, you promised to watch a movie with us!” Wyatt stubbornly held Reuben’s hand, not letting him go after

dinner.

“Of course, let’s go,” Reuben put him on his shoulders and carried Lori to his arms as he took them in the living room to watch The Monkey King for Wyatt then a Disney Princess movie for Lori no

matter how tired he was. We laughed and enjoyed our time together with the twins as we held each other’s hands until I noticed the children were already asleep and Reuben was dozing off too.

I admired the three of them. They looked so adorable together. I slowly slipped my hand out of his grasp, put Wyatt and Lori in their beds, and returned with a blanket to cover Reuben. Suddenly he pulled me down causing me to fall on top of him. “Don’t go,” he grumbled, hugging me with his eyes closed. I smiled sheepishly and slept holding him tightly on the sofa.

Over the past week I had gotten my life back on track. My family was whole and we were all happy. The friendships that I had lost six years ago had returned but in different ways which was good for me. The nightmares that had been plaguing me for eleven years were gone thanks to Reuben who was always with me, to assist in getting over my traumatic memories of Dark. However, the evil blood had still been awoken inside me, its dominance and power could be sensed by other wolves. I had slowly started to learn to control it so ! would not hurt anyone innocent around me. Sky came over to meet me time to time. He had been rebuilting Wade Moon Pack with his hard work that I loved. His father’s death really changed him and he had finally grown up. I was happy to see Sky working for his life and future while at the same time I had started to move my fashion. designing career to America.

Lola had brought my business here to America while I had begun working on a lot of projects to catch up. There was a great deal of work to get done and not that much time to do it, so for the next four days I worked with very little sleep. It had only been possible because starting on that day Reuben and I saw each other less often. I did not know why but he would disappear for hours, we

hardly even ate meals together. He was not even home at night. This made me restless and to distract myself I worked more and more. Could it be that he was busy with pack matters?

That night I dozed off while working on my designs but woke up on the bed with… “Reuben”

“Morning,” he smiled and kissed my lips. I kissed him back and hugged him. “Why have you been so busy the last few days?” I complained, acting spoiled.

He chuckled, rolling me under him, “Don’t be mad at me,” he cooed but I ignored him.

“Let go, I am not talking to you!” I pouted, trying to get off of the bed but Reuben grabbed me from behind and started tickling me.

“AHH… Reuben,” I screamed and laughed loudly. He really could not handle me pushing him away. That morning the packhouse filled with the sounds of our laughter and teasing. “Ah… Reuben, my stomach hurts!!” I curled up on the bed laughing, until he finally had mercy on me. He stopped tickling and hovered over me.

“Don’t be mad at me,” he apologized with a kiss. “Give me a chance to make it up to you,” he smiled.

“You want to make it up to me? How?” I blinked in confusion as his eyes beamed with a different kind of light.

“Give yourself completely to me today, Willow. Follow me blindly.”
