Chapter 24
Max’s PoV
“Max, there’s someone here. We don’t know who it is, but it appears we’re in danger. They have guns!” After hearing, Charlie says that I took my gun and hid it behind me.
I went out and was surprised because the car they were driving had the last name Heils stamped on it; I smiled as I approached them, and they looked at me with annoyed faces.
“What kind of person are you looking for? What brings Heils here?” When I asked, the gun was pointed at me.
“If you’re here to kill our boss, he’s on vacation,” I said, surprising them all.
“You are correct; we are looking for your boss. Who is your boss? We were ordered to come here to this base; we had no idea it was still here because the Shelton Family owned it,” He informed me.
“You are right the Shelton owns this, but this base is ours now. We buy it, and you can’t do anything about it,” I smirk after saying this, and they are all taken aback, and they pull the trigger, but it was pointed up.
“I’m not afraid of you; in fact, we can call our boss, and he will personally kill you all,” I said, and Tom immediately threw a smoke bomb, prompting me to smile.
“Call Ace now! He’ll have to deal with the Heils staff himself!” I yelled, and we all went inside to get bigger guns.
“He’s on his way, boss! But who is going to look after Unice? It’s risky because she’ll be alone in the mansion!” As Tom instructed, I dashed to the back.
I hopped on my motorcycle and started it. “I’m going to the mansion, and I’ll take care of her myself; tell Ace I’m going when he gets here,” I told Tom, and as soon as I stepped out of the back of the base, I hopped on my motorcycle and started it. And wore my helmet.
I turned it on right away to avoid the bullets being fired at me, and I accelerated my motor even faster when I noticed Ace running quickly and not seeing me.
I can’t do anything because our primary goal is to avenge Ace’s family, and he appears to want to kill all of the Heils Family’s staff. When I arrived at Ace’s mansion, it was after midnight; I checked my wristwatch, and it was three o’clock in the morning.
I saw Unice sitting in front of the door, depressed, and she saw me, obviously surprised.
“What exactly are you doing here?” Unice inquired.
“As usual, Ace asks me to protect and guard you,” I replied, taking a seat next to her.
“I can’t sleep because I heard what your comrade said, and I’m worried about Ace,” Unice explained.
“There’s nothing we can do because Ace is the one seeking vengeance on his family; has he told you anything about his family?” I inquired of Unice.
“Yes, Ace told the story, but I don’t know who killed his family. He didn’t say maybe he wasn’t ready for that part yet,” Unice said, still plenty of time and time to tell that part for me a little. That is a difficult situation.
“But I believe in Ace and am confident that he will succeed. If you have a lot of money, there is nothing wrong with exacting revenge, but in the end, his will backfire someday,” Unice informed me. She is also familiar with the behavior of the wealthy.
“How did you know that rich could do everything?” I inquired of Unice.
“I have a lot of rich friends who can do anything,” Unice said, adding that if it’s about her friend, I have no problem about it.
“Don’t you long for your friends?” I inquired of Unice.
“Right now, I don’t miss them; I don’t want them to worry about me; I’m scared if they do something to Ace,” Unice said as I took my cigarette from my pocket.
“I have a question for you while we’re waiting for Ace and while he’s not here,” Unice told me.
“What is your question?” I respond to Unice. At the same time, I was lighting up my cigar with my lighter.
“How did you meet Ace? How did you two become so close? Isn’t it a good thing he didn’t kill you right away? How long did it take for him to trust you?” Unice inquired to me.
“Listen carefully because our story is pretty cool,” I told Unice, and she seemed to be interested in my story.
“We were the same age when we met, I was only seven years old at the time, and I saw him outside his house, sitting and sad,” I began to tell Unice.NôvelD(ram)a.ôrg owns this content.
“I thought Ace was just sad because he missed his toy; I didn’t think about anything and talk to him,” I added.
“But when I asked him, I realized it wasn’t the toy he was missing anymore,” I explained, recalling how Ace looked at me that day and how I felt like he was going to kill me.
“Ace told me that his family had died and that they had been murdered,” I said, looking up at the sky.
“I asked Ace if he had any other family to approach, and he even shouted at me that he had no other family and that the only family he considered were his mother and father, who had died,” I explained to Unice,
“I get the impression Ace wants vengeance right away, even when he’s young,” Unice said to me.
“I used to be a little taller than him, but now Ace is taller than me,” I laughed, remembering how I used to take care of him because he didn’t want to leave the house to buy food.
“You know Ace doesn’t want to leave the house because he feels like his family is still there, so I brought him food every day,” I explained to Unice.
“Does he study?” Unice inquired.
“Because I took a business management course in college, I taught him everything I knew. I can’t believe he’ll learn it fast,” I informed Unice, and I noticed Ace, who had already arrived at the mansion.
“What are you two talking about?” Ace inquired.
“She is unable to sleep. She wishes to speak with me.” I spoke up to Ace, and she looked at Unice.
“As long as you don’t fall for her because she’s mine,” Ace said solemnly to me, and when I looked at them, Unice immediately stood up and hugged her.
It appears that Unice will take my place in caring for him, but I know that our friendship will not be harmed even if he has soon to be a girlfriend.
I got on my motorcycle and rode away, remembering the time Ace and I had spent together. Fortunately, even though Ace is a murderer, I taught him proper manners and respect for others.
Unice’s PoV
“Are you all right?” Max had already left when I asked Ace because he had hugged me earlier.
“I’m just tired,” Ace said, and I let go once I looked at him.
“Let’s go inside because it’s cold outside,” I said, and the two of us entered.
We went to his room, and I was surprised when he laid me down. We looked at each other and kissed me. I clung to his neck to see him insert his hand into my dress as he kissed me.
“Ace, you have blood on your clothes,” I said, and he came to a halt.
“I forgot, I’m sorry,” Ace said as he moved away.
“It’s going to be morning; what do you want me to cook for breakfast?” I inquired as Ace changed his clothes.
“Anything is fine, and your cooking is always delicious,” Ace said, and I smiled.
“All right, I’ll cook,” I said as I stood up.
I was surprised when Ace pulled me back and kissed me again, and when he let go of the kiss himself, I noticed that his cheek was red. I touched his cheek, and he just stared at me; I had just handled his cheek in this manner.
“Your hand was soft,” Ace said to me, and I was taken aback by his sudden smile.
I notice a different smile now; Ace appears to be at ease with me, and this smile suits him perfectly.
He’s still attractive.
