Darling, Please Love Me Again! (Gisele Meyer)

Chapter 42

Chapter 42

Gisele’s fingers trembled as she punched in the numbers while cursing the length of the phone number.

“Hello.”

The phone was answered immediately, and her voice trembled as she asked, “Dorian, how dare you?”

“Ms. Meyer.” Jon’s voice came through the phone, cold and ruthless.

Gisele’s heart plummeted to the depths of despair in an instant. Text © 2024 NôvelDrama.Org.

How could she forget? Dorian was likely with Sierra at this very moment, and there was no way he would pick up her call.

Gisele clenched her phone tightly. Her pale fingers betrayed the anger pulsing within her.

“Why did he freeze my card?” She suppressed her anger and sadness. She feigned indifference to the inconvenience of having her card frozen.

Jon’s voice echoed through the receiver. His tone was mechanical. “Ms. Meyer, this is a small lesson to jog your memory. Your card will be unfrozen once you’ve taken a moment to reflect and apologize to Ms. McMillan.”

She couldn’t help but chuckle bitterly at his words. She wondered why she should be the one to apologize.

Was it her fault that Sierra had become a mistress? Had a single penny of his ever been on

that card?

All the explanations she wanted to give were stuck in her throat and left unspoken.

Meanwhile, Jon had already hung up, as if even one more word from her would waste his time.

She stared blankly at the text messages on her phone screen.

When she had decided to divorce Dorian, she had returned all the cards Dorian and Declan had given her.

This particular card, the only one with Dorian’s name on it, was something Gisele had humbly begged for on their first wedding anniversary.

She had intended to bridge the gap between them.

She had believed that as long as they shared this card, even if he didn’t reciprocate her love, she could gradually integrate herself into his life.

She had wanted to show him that she still deserved affection despite having a greedy father.

But she had been dead wrong since she was the only one using that card.

Every cent in that bank account had been earned through her and Angle’s hustle selling traditional herbs, including Bernard’s upfront payment.

In the room, Gisele took a deep breath. Her smile tinged with sadness as she whispered, ” Well, Gisele, you’re flat broke now.”

But why did her heart ache so much? Why was her breath getting heavier?

In the high–end apartment in the heart of Hearthfield, Sierra held a glass of red wine.

She was dressed in a sleek satin sl*p dress that accentuated her curves. Her long, beachy waves flowed over her slender shoulders.

A delicate scent wafted through the air as she settled onto the couch, casting a cozy ambiance over the apartment despite the bright sunshine outside.

Soft, warm lighting and soothing melodies added to the romantic atmosphere.

“Do you

have something on your mind, Don?” She snuggled against his chest, her eyes. dewy with affection.

Dorian stiffened slightly, not entirely comfortable with her intimate gesture.

Just as he was about to scoot away, Sierra, graceful as a vine, tilted her head.

With a delicate touch, she brushed her ch*ek against his and inadvertently spilled red wine

onto his white shirt.

“Don.” Her voice was soft and inviting.

Then, her fair hand traced his neck, her ruby l*ps tantalizingly close to his.

But suddenly, Dorian’s mind was flooded with memories of Gisele’s plush, tender k*sses.

In their three years of marriage, he had only rejected intimacy once when she had been drugged.

Closing his eyes, he fought to banish the thoughts of Gisele. He couldn’t bring himself to love a woman so consumed by vanity.

Yet, as Sierra’s passionate breath enveloped him, Dorian’s Instincts took over. He swiftly pushed her away.
