Chapter 69
"You have nothing to be sorry for. And I appreciate you thinking that I'm beautiful." Rose finally stopped laughing and said to Nancy who blushed in embarrassment. "I only told the truth and everyone who sees you thinks the same too." Nancy retorted.
"Thank you and you're also beautiful, sister Nancy. I would love to be on my way now." Rose remarked as she stood up from the couch and made her way to the exit. Nancy quickly jumped to her feet and called out to Rose who had almost reached the door. "Rose, wait. Let me escort you out."
Rose turned around and raised her hand to stop her. "There is no need for that. Though I appreciate the offer, you must have other things and tasks to complete, so I can take care of myself. Please give me a call tomorrow when the card is prepared." Rose politely rejected her offer to walk her out of the room.
"I will." Nancy nodded her head.
"Oh well, see you tomorrow." Rose waved at her before opening the door and walked out of the room.Belongs to (N)ôvel/Drama.Org.
The moment she arrived at the lobby, Rose noticed the change of staff's attitude towards her. They would instantly bow respectfully anytime she walked past them and even those two who were sitting would stand up and do the same for her. However, she ignored them sometimes and finally made her way to the exit.
She entered the Uber car and told the driver to take her to a very good restaurant to eat, it was still late afternoon so she still had the chance to eat lunch.
A few minutes, the Uber driver announced that they've arrived at the destination. Rose nodded her head and looked out of the car window. As expected of a famous and reputable restaurant in the country, there were a lot of people dressed in fine and expensive clothes walking in and out of the restaurant.
Although she would have chosen to eat at a regular restaurant, she had no knowledge on where to find a regular restaurant to eat. She didn't venture much into social life in her past since she was always locked in the mansion and rarely made an appearance outside. The driver might have misunderstood when asked him to take her to a 'good' restaurant. He thought she was telling him to bring her to an expensive place to eat.
"Is there a problem, Miss?" The driver suddenly asked as he glanced at Rose through the rearview mirror and saw her just staring out the window.
"Oh, it's nothing. It's just that this place looks a bit more expensive than the place I expected you to go to. I was expecting a regular restaurant." Rose looked at the driver's seat while pointing towards the restaurant.
"But, I thought this is a place that would suit someone like you Miss. You don't deserve to eat at a regular restaurant." The driver turned to look at Rose, a bit surprised that someone of her caliber wants to eat at a regular restaurant.
Upon hearing the driver, Rose could only sigh in defeat. She has a reason for wanting to enter the restaurant because it's a very popular and expensive place. She didn't want to run into Beatrice in a place like this.
"Please, wait here and you're also free to grab something for yourself. I will give you a call when I'm done eating so you can come pick me up." Rose said. After all, she had hired him for at least twelve hours and she hadn't even used up to two hours yet. Without waiting for his response she opened the car door and stepped out of the car. Already used to people staring at her, she made her way to the entrance.
Sighting an empty regular table by the huge window side, Rose made her way there and sat down. A waiter quickly walked up to her and handed her the restaurant food menu. "Good afternoon, Miss." The waiter greeted her with a small bow.
Rose nodded her head as she skimmed through the menu, turning a blind eye to the burning gaze she was receiving from the waiter and the other customers sitting close to her. Feeling really uncomfortable with their stare, she placed the menu and raised her head to look at the waiter.
"Sorry, before I order my food. I'd like to use the restroom, so please tell me where it is?" She suddenly asked.
The waiter snapped out of his daze and composed himself. "The
restroom is on the fourth floor." The waiter told her. Although there was another, Restroom on the other floor before the fourth floor. However, they were not as secure as the one on the fourth floor. And judging by how Rose looked, he felt like she could easily be taken advantage of, that's why he directed her to the fourth floor.
"Okay, thank you." Rose calmly nodded her head, standing up from her seat and head to the elevator.
It wasn't hard for her to find her way to the ladies restroom when she got to the fourth floor. After she was done washing her hand and calming down from the uncomfortableness she felt earlier, she made her way to the entrance of the restroom.
Just as she took several steps away
from the entrance, her phone
buzzed in her bag. She paused in her steps and pulled out her phone to check which message had entered. Because she was focused on her phone, she didn't see someone coming in front of her and suddenly crashed into the person.
"Hey, watch where you're going?" A man yelled angrily at her.
Rose raised her head up to look at the man in his late twenties and a frown suddenly appeared on her face when the strong smell of cigarettes and alcohol wrapped her nose. Who in their right mind would drink and smoke to the extent that she can perceive it all over his body in broad daylight? Obviously, this man. She could tell that be was one of those rich brats that had everything easy for them in their entire pathetic life seeing how he is leisurely visiting an expensive restaurant and drinking with no care in the world.
