Chapter 11- The Crying And Crowning
Chapter 11- The Crying And Crowning
Sabrina's POV
With mother fussing over Josey's hair and Josey screaming profanities as mother tugged and pulled through her curls, the two had the makings for a very funny comedy show.
With all the laughter coming from me and the help that was sent my way for being the moon goddess, Josey was still my biggest concern. Yes, I had to command her wolf to silence Cayden and she did but how long do we have before another episode?
On top of that, my own brother is being crowned today in front of so many. I can only imagine the unrest all the alphas will cause. A beta blood ruling over them? A disaster waiting to happen.
I have no doubt Xander and Max will pledge their allegiance to my brother but the rest?
They were able to overlook him taking over Percy's pack because he was an unfit alpha but we all know alphas take ranking to another level. I would not be surprised if someone tries to kill him but I know Cj is always prepared for the worst and a witch for a mate might just make him the luckiest wolf that I know.
"All done Your Serene Highness.." The three ladies say in unison.
I stand from the chair I was sitting on and walk to a full length mirror to see their work and my goodness did they outdo themselves! Smiling from ear to ear,
"I love it ladies. Thank you so much!!" I say in excitement.
In a long, body hugging silk ensemble was yours truly. The dress hugged my curves to absolute perfection, with an open slit all the way up to the top of my thigh. Dress was paired with gold strap high heel shoes that were about 4 inches long.
Turning around, the dress had a low cut, but my entire back was covered in golden sheer material.
Hair was styled to perfection too. With my hair slicked up in to a high ponytail. My curls were straightened to give off a sleek finish ponytail. Big golden studs on each ear to compliment the color on me.
I felt like my whole body was bathed in gold as I take in my reflection. My face shimmering thanks to the perfect contouring and nude to gold eye shadows paired with lashes big enough for my eyes.
The three ladies understood the assignment and goddess did they not pass with flying colors and distinctions?
Pass with gold.
"Ladies, what a miracle!" Mother says hands on her mouth shook.
"Miracle? Ouch mother. My Jean's and sneakers get to you that much?" I ask and she nods her head yes walking towards me, pulling Josey by the hair too.
"The moon goddess ladies..." Mother shouts out and I curtsey in front of everyone just in time for Anthony to walk in dressed in a navy suit with black detailing.
"Ah my children! I am the proudest mother today. You all look so beautiful." Mother says and the water works begin.
I ask the 3 girls to go help Josey.
"Who is the girl in the gold? That cannot be Sabrina. No way!" Anthony jokes and I roll my eyes.
"You clean up nice twin." I say making him smile.
"As always. I see you're finally getting it, keep it up little sister." Anthony says to me and I growl.
"I thought I was born first little brother." I say and he shakes his head no.
"Mother?" I call out.
"I will not put myself in the middle of this and for the love of the moon god, don't fight over it. We don't have any other clothes if you ruin the ones you're wearing." Mother says as she touches up her make up.
"Well that's a little stupid. What if we have to shift? My muscles grow bigger day by day, what if they grow now, stretching the fabric and making a hole?" Anthony asks.
"What if Anthony spills sauce all over his clothes? Or hugs a girl and she smudges her make up on his jacket?" I ask and mother rolls her eyes.
"Then you're not allowed to eat. You are not allowed to grow and most certainly not allowed to hug anyone." Mother says and we all giggle except for mother.
The 3 girls help Josey up and standing before all of us.
Eye bags? What eye bags? A thing of the past!
Before us stood the Josey I've known all my life. The incredibly girly but insanely beautiful and badass wolf.
Josey wore a red lace dress, matched with red lipstick and red strap heels.
Josey's curls shining and with so much life as they bounce around. What she was going through was well hidden behind the layers of concealer and foundation.
"Red huh? Fitting." Anthony says making Josey smile.
"Did you choose this dress Josey?" I ask and she shakes her head from side to side.
"I did. I figured, instead of fighting her vampire, we should embrace her. The vampire is part of Josey now and the more we suppress her, the more she will fight. Killing my baby girl slowly. Josey is a powerful being right now and in a world where we don't have too many hybrids. All my children have their struggles but if you can't accept what is in you, how will everyone else? I gave birth to very strong children and none of you will have it easy. At times I ask myself why my kids but then I ask again, why not? I'm talking about all of you, Christopher junior included. Teaching a child about life is important but a parent can never prepare their children on how to deal with death or heartbreak. I couldn't have possibly prepared you for all that you are each going through.. Anthony, Christopher is about to be king, something similar to the role you will play in this realm where the nation turned on your father and betrayed him, we can't be naive to think the same won't happen to him. I may not be his biological mother but he is your brother so I will treat him as my own. This is where you need to all show unity. Every one of you is going through hardships but you need each other and today, Cj needs to see his siblings standing tall and brave." Mother says and we all remain quiet.
Her words hit the heart.
She spoke in truth and sincerity, a mother watching her children take on life and it's curveballs was definitely taking a toll on her more than I thought. The idea of us drifting apart due to the roles we play in life was scaring her and we can't stand here, pretending or denying that we weren't already drifting apart.
Josey was proof of that.
We have all been so absorbed in our lives and I for one have been so self absorbed, knowing my little sister is going through hell. I knew the troubles she was going through but I put my life first, my problems first and I can't even compare our tribulations because she's alone in this.
Who else is a vampire?
None of us knew how to help Josey and we were too scared, too chicken to admit it out loud but this needs to stop.
"Jose, I'm sorry. I'm sorry for continously failing you as a sister and cowering away when I knew that you were suffering. I knew your mates were hurting you and I did nothing about it, even as the moon goddess. Mates are sacred and they let you down. I promise to be better, to be a better sister, a better listener and friend. No birthright role, strength or duty will come before you any more." I say before hugging her tightly.
"I would also like to apologize. To be honest, I was a little jealous of the bond you and Sabrina shared where I grew up alone with no siblings. When the time came for Sabrina and I to spend more time together, my twin, I was too selfish to realize that you were all alone. Cj, as we all know is no good at the sentimental bullshit and being a man of a very few words, I should've been the different brother. From now on, I'll be better." Anthony says to Josey before pulling us all in for a group hug.
We pull away and I look around to see the three girls had left to give us some privacy and mother was already sobbing away, ruining her perfect make up.
"Well, maybe you don't need make up." Anthony joked but Josey ran around the room gathering the tools she will need to fix mother's face.
"Thanks for the sweet words guys but I understand what you're all going through and today is CJ's day so let's get through that, then revisit my troubled life." Josey says as she helps mother with her face.
Something tugs at me that she was just saying that to get us to stop, but what she said is true. Today is CJ's day and it will be treated as such, Josey in mind too.
*********a few minutes later*********
"There, all done." Josey tells mother, who gets up from her chair to assess Josey's handiwork.
"I will forever be grateful that I was blessed with a girl like you Josey." Mother gushes, her words making Anthony to snicker at me.
I roll my eyes before walking to the door, Content is property of NôvelDrama.Org.
"I'm about ready to see Cj crowned." I say. The guilt was settling in that I had asked Hunter to stay when all of us were dressed and ready to celebrate with Cj.
So I grab dad's tuxedo and make my way to my office, finding him relaxed on my chair with his feet on my desk.
I walk in, holding the tux out to him.
"I can ask Evan to look out for Josey. Besides, he knows the going ins and coming outs of this realm, he will see her coming. You can't stay behind on such a historic day." I say handing him his tuxedo.
"To be honest, I was about to die on this chair in absolute boredom." He jokes before heading out to get dressed.
I link Evan to come see me in my office and like a true loyal soldier, he arrives within seconds.
"I've decided my father will be joining us on earth for my brother's crowning so I'll leave you in charge of guarding the urn. Josey can't get to it but she will try and you will be here to stop her." I say.
"I won't let you down." Evan promises and I smile at him.
"When have you ever?" I joke but his face falls.
"I let you down when we allowed Ethia to be our moon goddess. We all did and we will spend the rest of our lives making it up to you." He says before nodding his head at me in respect.
My heart melts at his words but my mother shouting for me has me bolting out of my office.
All dressed up and looking dapper, Hunter leads the way to earth. Josey had finally caught on with jumping from realm to the next, or one place to the next. She was one of us now, never left behind and not because she's baggage, because it is her birthright to be in this realm with all of us. I wish I could make her see it the way we all do.
Arriving at CJ's new home, a very big mid century castle, we are greeted by none other, Percival Woods.
"Ah, another one of my dear twin sister's exes. The very first one actually." Anthony jokes as we all walk past him. Josey and I ignoring Percy completely but failing after he utters four words to me.
"You look beautiful Sabrina." Percy says to me and I stop walking to acknowledge him.
"Thank you." I say before joining my parents and siblings in the long walk to where my little brother awaits.
"I thought we had a silent agreement that we would ignore that butthole. You couldn't help yourself, could you?" Josey asks and I roll my eyes.
"Oh she had to do the hair flip and lingering gaze to get him heated up. It is every girl's dream to let an ex know what they lost, Sabrina was just making sure of it." Anthony claims and I growl at him before Hunter moves him out of my way.
"When we walk in through that door, all this childish banter better stop." Mother scolds us and we all giggle.
Two men were standing, guarding the doors but upon our arrival they step aside as the double doors open to reveal a very big hall filled with people. Different scents and auras taking over my senses,
some completely overwhelming.
One scent catches my nose, one that takes me home and makes me feel at ease.
Xander was here.
