Mia quickly pulled Summer behind her, locking eyes with Hunter. "Hunter, you're a smart businessman. Maybe consider the evidence before making accusations. And just so you know, there's security footage here. If you think Summer's at fault, go check it and confirm before blaming her."
She spoke slowly, barely containing her frustration. If she didn't fear Hunter's reaction, she would have outright told him he had left his brain at home.
Jenna clung to Hunter's sleeve, her voice hurried. "Hunter, it was just me. I tripped. It's nobody else's fault."
Of course, she had done it on purpose.
Hunter looked down at her, reassuring, "You don't have to be afraid. I'll stand by you. Just tell the truth."
Seeing the way he cared for Jenna, Mia felt a stab of pain, her face paling. They were husband and wife, sharing the same bed every night. Yet here he was, standing right in front of her, his full attention on another woman, treating her as if she were a complete stranger. Sensing Mia's distress, Summer grabbed her hand and whispered, "Mia, please don't say anything else!"
Mia's hand was ice-cold in hers, and Summer couldn't help but wonder if her heart felt just as frozen. A pang of sympathy hit her.
Taking a deep breath, Summer addressed Hunter directly, "Mr. Jasper, I know you have a low opinion of me, but I swear I didn't touch her when I walked past. If you don't believe me, go ahead and check the security footage!"
If it weren't for Mia, Summer would have already stormed over and confronted Jenna herself. This woman's habit of setting traps was beyond infuriating.
Hunter's gaze shifted to Mia. "Is that what you think too, Attorney Smith?"
It was "Mia" before and now, it was "Attorney Smith." The words struck Mia painfully. Hunter was intentionally creating distance between them.
"Why aren't you answering? Feeling guilty?" he asked coldly. This material belongs to NôvelDrama.Org.
Jenna's heart raced as she clung to Hunter's sleeve. "Hunter, it really has nothing to do with her! I fell on my own. There's no need to check the footage. I'm feeling a bit faint. Could you just take me back to my seat?"
If they reviewed the footage, everything would be clear. Last time, when she had slapped herself to frame Summer, Hunter had found out and hadn't been pleased. If he caught her lying again, he might just leave her to fend for herself.
Hearing Jenna's, over-the-top, 'playing the victim' tone, Summer resisted the urge to strangle her. Instead, she smiled and said, "To clear things up, let's check the footage anyway."
No matter how convincingly Jenna pretended, she clearly wasn't hurt that badly. How could Hunter not see through it?
"Miss Scott, I never once suggested you knocked me down," Jenna replied, her voice/sweet. "You're innocent, there's no need to prove anything."

Shelobelte arms cord Hunter's neck, speaking spitly, "Hunter, I don't feel well. Can you please take me back to sit down?
She then cast a glance toward Mia, knowing full well Mia loved Hunter. Watching her this close to him would surely szeg
All she needed was for Mia to lose her temper and lash out, and she could turn the situation back on her, shifting all the blame away from herself
Mia caught the look Jena threw her way, and instead of reacting, she calmly took out her phone, smiling.
