Chapter 14: Awful Makeover
Chapter 14: Awful Makeover
Amelia got home and applied some ointment to her burnt chest, and she felt better. She started preparing for the dinner party in no time.
She had gone to call Elena to help her pick an outfit, but when she went, Elena said she was busy, but would be with her in a few minutes.
“Amelia, I am less busy now. Can I come in?” Elena knocked on Amelia’s door and waited for her to answer.
“Yes, come in! I didn’t lock the door,” Amelia responded, tossing more clothes from her closet.
Elena walked into Amelia’s apartment and searched the living room with her eyes. Her eyes fell on Amelia’s open bedroom door, and she walked to the door.
Her jaw slacked when she saw how scattered Amelia’s room was. So many clothes were on the floor, some on the bed, and even few found their way to her standing mirror.
“What in the rough’s name is going on here?”
Amelia, who was in towels, jumped at the sound of Elena's voice, she looked back and sighed after seeing how shocked Elena looked.
“Thank God, you are here. I need your help.”
She hurried to where Elena stood and grabbed her hand. She pulled her to her closet and let go of her. She stood akimbo and looked at her closet too.
“I have been looking for the perfect dress for a dinner party, but I can’t find any! Can you help me?”
Elena bounced her head and looked around the bedroom again.
“Yes, I can, but you didn’t have to throw your clothes all over this way.”
“I know, but I grew frustrated at some point,” Amelia sulked.
“Okay, chill now. Breathe.”
Amelia exhaled loudly and bounced her head. “I think I’m better now. So, what do I do?”
“Do you have any gowns? Sexy ones?” Elena asked, and Amelia scoffed.
“Me? Sexy gowns? No, I don’t. I have never dressed sexy my whole life. And that is why it is so hard to pick an outfit.” She brushed her hair backward in frustration.
“Okay… Okay… there’s a solution to everything. This dinner party you are talking about, is it a family dinner party? Or a business dinner party?”
“A business dinner party. I need to look classy and beautiful so that I don’t disgrace Mr. James and his company as a whole.”
“Mr. James?” Elena asked.
“Yes…” Amelia walked to her standing mirror to pick the clothes that hung on it. “Mr. James Parker, the CEO of Ja’ Park’s Tertiary Company. I’m his new secretary, and I don’t want to be treated like garbage again at this party.”
‘James Parker?’ Elena answered in her head. That name would never cease to ring a bell, not after the splendid night they had together when she was his secretary.
“Elena, are you okay? You seem lost.”
Amelia waved her hand in front of Elena’s face, jolting her out of her thoughts.
“Errm, sorry about that. So, you are his new secretary, and you want to look beautiful for him…”
“And his company. Not just for him,” Amelia completed the statement always immediately, and Elena slowly bobbed.
‘So he fired me to hire someone like her? Is he joking?’ Elena thought, letting out a fake smile.
“I got you covered, Amelia. I have a very nice blue gown. I bought it some days ago. It’s pretty tight for my body, but I bet it will fit you perfectly well. I’ll go and get it for you.”
“Oh, God. Thank you so much, Elena. You are a lifesaver.”
Elena smiled faintly and walked out of the bedroom. ‘Let’s see how you’ll win his heart after I’m done with you, Amelia.’
Elena returned shortly with the blue gown she had promised, and she also had a makeup box with her.
“You can wear such a nice dress without some makeover. I’ll help you with that too,” Elena said to Amelia.
“Thank you so much, Elena. You are such a darling.”
Amelia raised the gown and saw it was a long gown which had a split in front. The blue color was flashy and giving, she couldn’t wait to wear it.
She hurriedly loosened her towel and let it slide down her body. She wore a bra and pantie underneath.
Elena watched her as she wore a cloth. She laughed so hard inside her. She knew what she was doing. ‘I won’t let any woman have James. If I can’t have him, then no one can.’
“What do you think?”
Amelia nervously ran her palm over the dress, and Elena clapped. “Perfect!”
She walked to Amelia and reached for the zip. She helped her zip up the dress carefully. If she was not very careful, the zip would wear out. This content provided by N(o)velDrama].[Org.
It has a weak zipper and this is why Elena never bothered to wear it.
The dress looked perfect on Amelia’s body, it wasn’t too big or tight. It was giving, and Amelia was so happy. She lifted the dress and hurried to her mirror.
She looked at herself and her face reddened. ‘Mr. James, you have nothing to worry about now.’
“Let me help you with the makeover.”
Elena tapped the bed and made Amelia sit. She opened her makeup box and started shading Amelia’s face.

Elena was done with Amelia’s makeup, and she moved away from the mirror so she could check it out.
“Tada!”
The smile on Amelia’s face slowly faded away when she saw her face in the mirror.
Her eyes looked so deep because of the excess blue eyeshadow and black mascara Elena had used.
“What do you think?” Elena asked, trying so hard not to laugh in mockery.
“Are you sure about this makeup? I’m not so sure about it.”
Amelia kept staring at her face. Elena shook her head and moved closer to her.
“Trust me, Amelia. This is very beautiful. Who wouldn’t trip when they see you? I bet James Parker would be too stunned. You look great, baby girl, and I wish you a happy celebration tonight.”
Amelia smiled widely after Elena finished talking. For some reason, she believed Elena.
“You are a good friend, Elena. Thank you so much. I’ll leave very soon. It’s almost 8pm. The party starts by 8pm.”
“I should leave now then. Take care.”
Elena walked out of Amelia’s apartment, laughing very hard inside of her. ‘You’ll regret firing me, James. I’m the best secretary you can and will ever have.’

The taxi pulled up in front of the GFC company, and after Amelia paid the driver, she excitedly stepped out of the car. She felt so beautiful and couldn’t wait to show herself to James.
She wasn’t sure he was at the party yet, because she had no cellphone to contact him. She planned on looking for him, or waiting for him to arrive as soon as she got into the company.
The company’s entrance was still blocked and filled with numerous reporters and media guys. It was a special night, they weren’t going to miss it for anything.
The GFC company’s parties were known to be elaborate and beautiful. I couldn’t wait to show the world how those that were invited were dressed.
The lights in front of the company’s entrance was enough to light up the whole street, but the flashlights from the cameras were even brighter.
“You look beautiful, Amelia. Elena confirmed it too. There is nothing to fear,” Elena said to herself, as she began to approach the entrance.
She tried walking majestically, but she couldn’t. Not with the slight pain she felt in her leg from her healing wound. Apart from the wound, she wasn’t used to walking majestically. So, she lifted her dress and walked normally to where the reporters were.
Immediately she reached in front of them and they noticed her, they roared in laughter and turned their cameras to her.
“Who the hell did her makeup? She looks awful!“
Horrible words filled Amelia’s ears, and she blinked in shock. The confidence she built from home washed down the drain immediately, and her eyes began to fail her again.
She tried so hard not to cry, instead she ran into the company so that she wouldn’t hear any more embara words from the people.
She got to the company but didn’t stop running. She headed to the restroom immediately. She wanted to wash off her makeup.
“I told Elena…” She mumbled when she got to the restroom and started washing her face with water. She was still rinsing her face when she started hearing some strange noises inside one of the toilets.
She stopped sobbing and tried to hear the noises carefully. They sounded like moans. She moved closer to the door the noise came from and stood in front of the door.
“Yes… hmm… f**k me, James.”
Amelia heard a feminine voice and her eyes popped wide open. She knew what was going on. ‘James? Like, Mr. James?’ She wondered, still glued to where she stood. This time, she could hear the groan of the man too.
‘He isn’t the only one who bears James, Amelia.’ She thought and turned to walk away.
“Yes, Parker! Just like that!” Amelia’s feet abruptly took a halt after hearing the ladies pleasured cry again, and she looked at the door again.
“Parker?” She called out loud.
