Chapter 383
Was Margot destined to always be the side character, tucked away in the shadows?
Selena's mind was a whirlwind, struggling to make sense of Everett's irrational mindset.
Her prolonged silence tested Everett's patience.
A sharp pain on her lips snapped her back to reality; the rascal had nipped at her, pressing his fingertip against the mark, making her wince.
"Listen up, Selena," he said.
Everett's cool fingertips traced her lips with an unsettling tenderness, but his words sent a shiver down her spine.
"Like it or not, we're having another child. Our kid's going to be the future heir of Bennett Corporation. You and I... we'll be together for life. You'll always be Mrs. Bennett!" Selena gasped.
Everett, still as full of himself as ever!
If there was a hammer nearby, she might've been tempted to crack his head open and see what was inside.
But their relationship had only just started to "improve"; confronting him now would make all her previous "humility" pointless.
Selena wasn't one to quit halfway. Once she started something, she intended to see it through.
She did her best to swallow her frustration and forced a smile. Without directly addressing the baby issue, she vaguely said, "I'll listen to you."
In the days that followed, Everett was her constant companion, doubling as her personal driver, playmate, and ATM.
But every night, Selena found herself unable to escape his passionate affection in various places.
Thankfully, she had the foresight to buy an extra box of medication while picking up hangover pills at the pharmacy, discreetly hiding it in her phone case.
Otherwise, with his enthusiasm... things might have actually taken a turn!
A week later, their plane touched down at Newport International Airport.
With work stacking up and numerous meetings rescheduled Everett dropped Selena off at the villa with a kiss on her cheek before heading straight to the office

Selena, arms full of gifts, walked in calling out, "Ava, come quick, it's gift time~~"
At Bennett Corporation, in the CEO's office.
Everett had been buried in paperwork for most of the day, his eyes weary. Tossing the documents aside, he rubbed his temples, leaned back in his leather chair, and closed his eyes to rest.
A notification chimed, signaling a new email.
After a moment, he slowly opened his eyes, picked up his phone, and as he read the content, a glint flickered in his dark gaze. Just then, Derick entered the room.
He respectfully placed a document
on the desk, saying, "Mr. Everett, I've had the herbal tonic you asked to be checked for madam. The results are here for your review." Nôvel/Dr(a)ma.Org - Content owner.
Everett didn't open it right away. He stared at the manila envelope, his long fingers tapping lightly on the desk.
He wondered: Selena, you didn't leave that day, and this past week, you've been so compliant every night. Is it genuine, or... just an act?
